This isn't a review about the food, drink, or service. They were all actually pretty good. The server was nice and talkative if not overly trying to sell us more drinks. My issue was how they SCAM YOU ON THE RECOMMENDED GRATUITY AND TOTAL LINES! There is a large restaurant chain (cheese and factory in title) that is being sued via class action for the exact same reason. I've attached pics of my receipt to show what they're doing. You get your check, everything looks fine on it, even the suggested tip amount and total are correct. Then you give them your form of payment which in my case was a credit card and that's where they try to defraud you. On that slip, the one that has the signature line and blanks for gratuity and total, the suggested tip is higher by around $1. Fraudulent but no big deal right? Where it gets really bad is the suggested total. They calculate that $74.13 and $11.17 tip is $91.79 where in reality it's $85.30. That's $6.00+ more and at least 10% more gratuity than what 15% calculated out to be. Based on the reviews, no one seems to catch it. I'm guessing that if you were to put $11.17 on the gratuity line and $91.79 in the total you're going to be charged $91.79 on the basis that you didn't add properly. After a few margharitas this mistake would be pretty easy to make. When I confronted the waiter about it, he acted like he had no idea what I was talking about. I was going to speak to a manager but I was there with my family and the kiddos were exhausted so we just went home. If you go to this place be extra careful when you're paying especially if you've had a couple of drinks. They're intentionally trying to rip you off! Too bad, because I really enjoyed their Guisada...
Read moreAbsolutely unprofessional! Cancelled my order along with ten others without prior notice..while we were standing right in front of management! On 9/18/2020 after a long day at work I placed a to-go order for my family and I. I placed it around 7pm. I waited for an hour before showing up to the restaurant just to give them extra time. After arriving and sitting in the car for another 15 mins, I went inside to see what the hold up was. The place was busy but not packed. I noticed about 10 other people standing by the door, all wondering where their food was. I approached the desk, gave them my name and a hostess ran to the back to retrieve my order. BEFORE she came back, I noticed the manager on his tablet cancelling orders. Another customer asked him why he was doing this.. After the customer walked off angry, I asked if my order had been cancelled also. The moment I asked, all of us in line got an email stating ALL OF OUR ORDERS HAD BEEN CANCELLED. When I asked why, the manager nonchalantly said, "I wanted to give the kitchen a break so I had to cancel them". NO, you didn't have to automatically cancel them while we were all standing there waiting! All he had to do was ask us if we didn't mind waiting because the kitchen was backed up. Automatically cancelling without giving us a choice was just ridiculous. All of us waited over an out for food and never got it. We all had to find other dinner options at the last minute. By the way, it was now almost 9pm!!! Then after I told the manager how he poorly his decision making was, he then said, " I can give you your order for free, but you might have to wait almost 2 hours" smh.. I declined and left. 2 more hours will be a 3.5 hour wait total.....
Read moreWe all are suffering after the storm, let’s just start with that. So I get to the door and there’s a sign that states, “Cash Only” ok so no problem. I was told as an option, that I could order online and I would just show them the online receipt. Then I ask if it was okay to sit and eat there after I ordered, she says ok. So I get my food and I eat at the bar, and I’m not treated like the other paying patrons, but I’m not really making a fuss. I was given a small portion of chips, and tiny portions of salsa. So when I leave I ask for some extra salsa to take with me because I barely got any to begin with. Now, understand, I paid the same as anyone else would pay dining in, I made sure to tip because I didn’t leave with my order. Then I’m brought out another tiny cup of salsa, and told that’s normally an up charge, like I didn’t sit and dine and tip! I will not be returning! Yeah I’m complaining about salsa because I was a dine in customer and didn’t have access to chips and salsa like everyone else. It’s the principle. You’re already inconveniencing your customers having to pay cash and I’m not being treated the same as the others dining in! We’re all tired, we’re all suffering but why treat me that way! The reality of me having to leave, get in my car, track down a working ATM on this side of town to get cash is a pain, making people waste gas, and pay ATM fees. That’s an inconvenience all own. I will not be supporting this establishment. This is not how real Texans act! We’re supposed to be Houston strong and y’all are hoarding...
