We are new to the 249 area and decided to try the Luby’s since it was a recommended establishment for families. Upon arrival and walking through the doors the location was busy with families. I thought to myself that has to be a good sign right? WRONG. When I ordered my kids the kids meals I asked if the sides could be separated as my kids don’t like when food touches. The manager George was absolutely horrible stated that it wasn’t his problem what my kids needed. I proceeded to tell him as a paying customer it shouldn’t matter how it’s plated. He rolled his eyes and asked what sides my brats wanted. Yes you read that right. I looked at him dumbfounded and replied mashed potatoes and red potatoes. He literally put 2 red potatoes in a bowl and said this is what you get and you’re going to have to pay additional for having it served in separate plates and went to tell the cashier to charge me more. At this point I was beyond irritated and when I got to the cashier all the cashier could do was apologize for that manger’s behavior. Stating that many customers and employees have several complaints about him and his rude attitude. Lubys you need to do better. You business depends on families who continue to come here but with service like that id rather drive out of my way to another location for better service. As far as the food goes it was Luke warm at best and not even fresh. That’s absolutely...
Read moreLet me start by saying I’ve always loved Luby’s and this location has been my go to restaurant. I’ve been working a lot of hours so I decided to order my Thanksgiving dinner from Luby’s and save myself all the holiday cooking. It will be the last time I do that. What I received was not the food that Luby’s serves in the restaurant. Most of the food was thrown in the trash because none of my guests enjoyed it. The broccoli rice casserole is not the one they serve in the restaurant. It was bitter and completely inedible. The sweet potato casserole was not the delicious one you usually get in the restaurant. The corn was straight out of a can with no seasoning. The one shining light was the staff. When I went to pick up my Thanksgiving meal, they were well organized, efficient, and polite. I spent $250 on a meal that no one enjoyed and really regretted my decision because it not only ruined my Thanksgiving dinner but all of my guests as well. Needless to say, I’ll never order another holiday meal from Luby’s again. I don’t normally post reviews unless they’re positive but because of the amount of money I spent and they fact that not a single guest at my house enjoyed the meal, I felt like I needed to put a notice out there for others to review before they...
Read moreLots of issues here. The employees are friendly, but the food is subpar (except for the desserts, Lubys does know how to make constantly good pie). The selection seems much narrower than previous visits - on this Sunday evening, almost everything was fried. The piece of fish i got had been sitting under the army of heat lamps for so long that the lemon slice on top had completely dried out and the edges of the fish itself had become rock hard. Mac and cheese was watery and flavorless, and the rolls and cornbread were rock hard and stale. The waitresses started out nice, but we unknowingly took seats at two tables that apparently rested in two different waitresses' sections, and instead of just hanging the issue behind the scenes were we treated to an overly dramatic scene as they decided who would wait on us and who would step aside. Even after all of the discussion, neither of them ever came back to check on us and we had to go get our own refills, etc - that's fine, but surely you don't expect a tip for literally nothing? So what's the big deal with whose area we are sitting in? Pretty sure, after all of this, we won't be back here...
