I would like to inform the owner of the McDonald's located at 7104 S. Fry Road of a very unfortunate experience I had there tonight. I have enjoyed visiting many of the Glaser Group's McDonald's restaurants for years and even had my children's birthday parties at another location (Spring Green) last year.
This evening my 1 year old son needed to visit the TCH Urgent Care at West Campus off I10. We spent many hours there and by the time we were discharged it was after 10 pm. My baby was thankfully asleep in the back seat, but I was starving having completely missed dinner at home with my family. I was so relieved to see, after a maps search, that McDonald's did not close until 11:00 pm. I exited quickly off of 99 and pulled into the parking lot and drove up to the drive through at 10:43 pm. 17 minutes before closing seemed like more than enough time to order a fast food meal. All of the lights were on, and I had just seen another car drive away from the menu where you order to the windows. However no one greeted me as usually quickly happens when I pulled up to the speaker/menu. I sat for several minutes, saying "hello" to the speaker a few times before I decided to just pull up to the first window and order there. Again lights were on in the entire restaurant and there was indeed another customer ahead of me at the second window. So I sat at the first window for a while, and began to knock a few times. Finally the car in front of me was given their food (I saw it passed through the window) so I just pulled up. No one was there although I could see a jacket on a counter in the distance, and again every light was on. I sat there for a long while. I knocked on the window, I waited. I decided to call the phone number listed for the location, it simply rang and ran and rang. I knocked some more.
I pulled around the restaurant and decided to pop my head into the building to ask if anyone could come take my order at the drive through as I could not come into the store because of the sick sleeping baby I had with me. At this point I knew there were only minutes left until closing, but this is "fast" food right? Well the doors were locked. I knocked, and knocked and knocked. The sign on the door I was knocking on states that closing for a Tuesday should be 11 pm. It was NOT 11 pm. I waited. There were lights on everywhere. There were 3 cars in the parking lot. It was clear to me at this point I had been PURPOSEFULLY ignored for the last near 15 minutes. Although I knew it was futile I decided to drive one last time through the drive through. As I came to the first window I saw a girl passing by inside, she appeared to have long blonde hair pulled into a pony tail. She saw me and ran out of sight. Yes, RAN out of sight. I pulled up to the next window. Nope, everyone was still hiding. I knocked one more time and left. Angry. Exhausted, And hungry.
Although you should be able to corroborate this story with your surveillance video and any caller ID you may have which should show that I called 3 separate times, all before 11 pm. I have attached a picture I took of the three cars which were still in the parking lot, and the time on my car dashboard clearly showing it was not yet 11 pm.
I would not be taking the time to send this email if I did not know that this was not the caliber of customer service which the Glaser Group McDonald's strives to offer their customers. I have bragged on our experience at my children's birthday party last year to so many friends of ours. I have pushed for playdates to be moved to one of your McDonalds with all of my many Mom friends versus another favorite of most Moms I know in this area. But I will no longer be able to do that. I can no longer argue that an equally excellent customer service experience will be had at your McDonald's as is guaranteed without a doubt at your competitor. I do hope that this complete lack of customer service can be addressed with the employees in question and perhaps with all employees who may need a refresher on what it means to be working in the...
Read moreIf I could give zero stars, believe me I would. Story time. I get to the speaker and all I hear is silence. Okay, maybe they're busy, I get it. So I say something and still nothing. After 5 minutes then I get a response, okay better late than never. I ordered two hot and spicy's with tomatoes. Waited another long while and was told to repeat my order. Okay, strange but I didn't question it. Got to the window and paid. Cool, simple. As I pulled away and was a minute away I decided to grab my food. I bite into the sandwich and there's no chicken patty, on either. So much for a chicken sandwich. At this point, I drive back and just want my food remade, simple. I wait in the lobby for somebody to help me. Nothing. The I would assume manager sees me and resumes her activity without acknowledging me or telling me that it would be a moment. I waited 5 minutes just standing there patiently. Cool, I guess that's the type of service here. I wasn't helped until a manager returned from break. The manager didn't even offer to remake my food and asked what was wrong with the order. Again, a chicken sandwich with no chicken. No brainer, I suppose. At this point, I asked for a refund. After this moment, never again will I come to...
Read moreHorrible service. I'm here right now for breakfast and their door is locked. It's 6:30 a.m and the door is clearly marked that the dining room opens at 6:00 a.m. After being ignored for several minutes by multiple employees, who would occassionally look up to see me then quickly look the other way as if they were trying to avoid me getting their attention, one of the employees finally acknowledges me and gives me the hand signal for wait one minute. 20 minutes later im still outside and no one has came to the door. Finally, frim the same guy, he points towards the back of the store. I'm pretty sure he's telling me to go through the drive thru. But I'm in a work truck that wont fit through the drive thru. Im their defense there is a product truck there unloading product, but as a establish company as McDonald's is they need to make sure every store adheres to the times they have advertised. I also counted 12 different families and groups who came up to the door and left after finding out the door was still locked. Need to fire manager amd hire a new one because they are very poor at doing their "customet...
