Please be aware of your receipt when renting a tool at this home depot. Let me post about the nightmare that is still taking place at this store. I went to this store on December 28,2023 to rent an insulation machine to blow insulation in my attic. The machine was suppose to be free with purchase of 20 bags of insulation. I also rented a truck to bring it home. I bought the insulation and my son and I went to load it. Honestly the machine they gave us to use looked like a prehistoric dinosaur and was quite heavy. We were offered zero assistance in loading it and it was heavy. So after working through the kinks of getting the machine to even work we brought the machine back to the store around 6 p..m. This is essentially when the nightmare began. I handed my paperwork to the clerk on duty and he chunked it back at me and told me he didn't need it. I thought this to be quite rude and I was quite exhausted from climbing around in my attic all day. Then he gave me my receipt back and I was about to walk out the store when I noticed he had only refunded some of my money. I was still owed 189.44. So I told him the machine was supposed to be free with purchase at which time he barks at me you should have told me that before. Well I tried to give him my paperwork in the beginning but he was being a nasty human. Then he stated to me there isn't a thing I can do for you. You will have to go to customer service. So I go to customer service. I was instructed I needed to talk to Hilda Ned because she was over that department. It took quiet a while for them to round up Hilda. Hilda immediately started questioning whether I had bought the 20 bags of insulation. After standing there for over 30 minutes Hilda informed me she didn't need me in the store to refund the transaction. I no sooner get almost home and I got a call from Hilda saying she needed my license to clear up the transaction to come back to the store. They got that with the truck rental. Again I was exhausted from crawling around in the attic . I sent her a message explaining I would be in store the next morning. I arrived at home Depot around 8:15 am . Once again they called Hilda which never appeared this day. I was walked from the front to Tool Rental . A lady from the office tried to refund the charge to no avail. Once again I stood there for over 40 minutes but had to leave to make it to a dental appointment. I was informed they would mail me out a check for a refund the next day. I was called by Fouzia on 1/3/2024 inquiring what my email was she said they could not process my refund without my email. She also informed me they would be mailing me a check soon. After not receiving my refund by 1/13/2024 I once again went into Home Depot to get a resolution. I asked to speak with the Manager Michaelangelo Deleon. He assured me it would be resolved today. So here comes Hilda trying to refund the money. Mind you I stood there another 45 minutes or so. Then she looks at me tells me this isn't your fault but we are gonna have to mail you a check. At this point I'm not in the least bit happy. I asked to talk to Deleon the manager yet again. So he comes up and I expressed how I wasn't happy and asked if I would get the money in 2024 or would it be 2025? He began to laugh at me. Honestly this is the point I got angry. It cease to amaze me that there is not a single person in this Home Depot that doesn't know how to process a refund for the tool rental department when they make a mistake. They have shown me the lack of respect for customers. I have had my paperwork thrown at me, questioned on whether I purchased 20 bags of insulation and disrespected on several occasions. I have spent over 2 hours trying to get a refund due to me. I have been lied to by managers as to resolve the issues at this store and I still sit here over 3 weeks later with no resolution. I have been a customer at this home depot for the last 30 years in owning my home. I have spent thousands of dollars here. I can assure I have spent my last. Seems the management team cares not about...
Read moreTL:DR Don't use Home Depot installation services. Just call someone direct.
The subcontractor for my counter-top project was fine and the project is done and looks good. Really regret not contracting the subcontractor directly, because Home Depot services added exactly 0 value. I am never ever contracting Home Depot to do work for me ever again. Just call a direct contractor and manage the project yourself, because they don't do a good job, and are definitely overcharging (probably 2-3 times what it would cost to go direct to a contractor) you for their "management"
Home Depot is who aggressively dropped the ball. They didn't schedule the disconnect for the plumbing that was necessary before the actual install could occur. I know their work is marked up, but the entire point of running through the project is that they should have been able to streamline the install, work with the subcontractor and the plumber and get everything scheduled so that I had to do little to no work and the install was seamless. Instead, it never got scheduled and I had to do the disconnect myself, I chased Home Depot employees for weeks trying to make sure we were scheduled, and clearly failed.
I visited in store no less than 5 times to try and confirm appointments and talk to a human. I literally never saw the guy I worked with on the order again after the first day. I had to make my payment adjustment to flooring because apparently nobody ever works at the counter department. At least not after 5. So, having tried to visit multiple times to talk to a human, I settled for the phone (This is Thursday afternoon, installation is scheduled for Tuesday). I spent twenty minutes on hold to get forwarded to a voicemail, left a message and it was never returned.
Having finally gotten a person by calling Saturday and Sunday, come to discover that nobody was scheduled and nobody is coming because it's a holiday on Monday, so I do it myself. Fine, whatever. I can disconnect a sink, except that my shutoff leaks.
Install happened. It was fine. It took a little longer than expected. The guys were friendly and efficient. The counters themselves look great. The clean up was only mediocre, as there's small pieces of laminate counter left behind in the cabinets and on the floor. They also removed screws from the dishwasher and lost them.
The day after the install, plumber does get scheduled and he's slated to show up between 1 and 5. Great. By 6 when the plumber still hadn't arrived, I talked to dispatch and find out he's coming from the Woodlands, and it's going to be at least an hour before he gets to me. Plumber himself calls me at 7, to try to reschedule the job based on how late he is. Essentially suggesting I should spend another day without water in my kitchen (which I might have been fine with, had the shutoff valve for the kitchen sink not been leaking for the last 48 hours and my whole house shutoff doesn't work). Plumber did not arrive until 8 pm and didn't complete the job until 10:30. Once he arrived he was fine, but he did look at and quote me for another issue with my plumbing and I've since been given a quote at 1/3 the price. I also left a message with dispatch that I wanted to be contacted by a manager and never received a call back.
Since then, I'm clearly not thrilled with the counter department at the location I've been using. The counter department at the I-10 location doesn't want to touch it with a ten foot pole. The manager at the Fry and 99 Home Depot was apologetic, but apparently lacks the authority to change the hours of the counter top department or do anything to remediate. Essentially, the buck stops somewhere with corporate and nobody's going to do anything to improve the poor experience I had with Home Depot in terms of scheduling and...
Read moreDO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AT THIS STORE!! I went to this store first thing on Sunday morning. I was there like 10 minutes after they opened. Pat was working in the paint department and I was looking for ideas on how to restain a piece of furniture. I brought one of the drawers in with me and was standing behind a gentleman who was waiting for his paint. Pat never once looked up and greeted me but said, I'll be back. She was gone for 5-10 minutes and then came back with a flag in her hand roping off an aisle and guiding a forklift. The gentleman waiting for his paint got upset and walked behind the counter and removed it from the machine that shakes up the paint. She immediately saw him and said she was going to do that but he said he couldn't wait. At that point I saw other customers come up behind me so I asked her what was needed to repaint the drawer. She told me I had to pick a paint on the left and the primer was down the aisle where they were taking stock down for another customer (not sure why they needed to take stock down from an aisle shortly after opening). After turning around and walking away, she turned to all the customers in back of me and said that if they were waiting for paint they had to line up on the right. She never once tried looking at the drawer and I even asked her for advice. It was obvious she was annoyed, and had no idea what she was doing. I immediately left the store, leaving behind a basket of items and drove straight to Lowe's. If you need help from someone that cares and knows what they are talking about, go see Bradly at Lowe's. This guy was incredible. Actually told me that I needed to stain the furniture and not paint it, as i was looking to match the stain already on it. Thank you Home Depot for the many years of horrible customer service. There are a few good employees in this store but not many. I have been coming here since they opened and will NEVER return. So, if you are looking to raise your blood pressure go this Home Depot but if want to go somewhere with a much better experience, I recommend Lowe's. And by the way, if someone from corporate actually reads this review.. You may want to tell your employees to stop bad mouthing corporate. I overheard some of the employees last week at the paint department talking about how they are cutting hours and don't care about customer service. So in a way, I don't blame Pat but I blame corporate. Also, who runs out of artificial Christmas Trees in October!!!!? Ridiculous! Sounds like corporate has no idea what the hell...
