The food here is good but the service is consistently pretty bad and sometimes terrible. Up until this point the bad service I have received has been negligible. Mostly just poorly trained employees struggling to work the register or messing up my order. I'm a patient man, and I can handle a a few mistakes. On my most recent visit though as I went through the drive through, I was passed off to 3 different people who asked me for my order and then all 3 went silent for long periods of time before passing me off again. Once my order was finally received it was met with a long period of silence before I had to speak up again to get their attention. I waited about 10 minutes to receive my food, which was understandable. I arrived at around 8:35 and the store closes at 9:00 so they were likely closing down. After receiving my food I asked where the smoothie I ordered was, and one of the 3 people that were passing me around told me the other guy was currently making it. So I wait another 10 minutes while my sandwich gets cold for my smoothie. After that long wait and me seeing the smoothie maker walk back and forth several times I decided to go inside to see what was going on. Was he taking his time making me the perfect smoothie? Were they all being held at gun point waiting for me to come in to save them? Were they so slammed inside the store that they couldnt possibly peel away from the massive amount of work that needed to be done for the customers inside? Nope. None of that. 3 of them were sitting, and smoothie boy was cleaning up to close. So I yet again ask about my smoothie, and I'm greeted with a very aloof "hi welcome to tropical smoothie". At this point(25 minutes in) I'd rather eat my own hand off than swallow my pride and eat the sandwich given to me by the employees that could seemingly care less about their customers and just want to close early, so I asked for my money back. I wasn't asked why, I was just looked at blankly. They don't care. The kid was probably thrilled at that point that he didn't have to make the smoothie at all. Well little billy you can go home and play fortnite now, because your customer gave up on you.Tropical smoothie, if you want to be closed, then by all means close. Close your doors forever for all I care. If you decide you want to serve sandwiches and smoothies between the hours you have posted I would love to buy them from you, but for the love of god train...
Read moreI will NEVER, EVER do this business with Tropical Smoothie Cafe in Magnolia Texas. I waited for 20 minutes in the drive-thru to place an order. The male employee never asked for my order. There were no cars in front of me. I was not greeted as I pulled up.
I waited 3 minutes for anyone to say anything. I said "Hello. Are you open? I would like to place an order please."
The employee responded by saying "Just a moment!"
10 minutes later....I asked "Hello. I'm still waiting to place an order. May i place my order now please?"
The employee responded by saying "just a moment!"
At this point I was waiting 20 minutes. My order was still no placed. I had other customers in the drive-thru waiting behind me trying to order their food. They seemed upset and I'm sure they thought I was holding up the line. They drove away upset.
I asked the employee "Sir, is everything OK? I have been patiently waiting for 20 minutes and my order has not been placed. I have a car behind me waiting and they are getting upset."
The employee said "We have five orders ahead of you! We are not taking orders for now!"
I was like really? Don't you think you should've communicated this to me 20 minutes ago?
I noticed there were no cars in front of me in the drive-thru. I was outraged with the lack of communication & I drove away without ever placing my order. I called the business immediately to request to speak to the Manager to share my experience & my disappointment. Someone named Zack answered. He said he was the Manager. I explained to him what took place and the lack of communication from his employee. I suggested it would be a good idea to communicate with your customer to let them know why there was a delay and how long it would take. Don't say "just a moment" each time. I felt like I was bothering them.
The Manager was just as unprofessional as the employee in the drive-thru. He showed ZERO interest in anything I was saying. I'm pretty sure the person on the phone and drive thru was the same employee. He simply said "We had five online orders in front of you. Is there anything else I can do for you?" I was surprised with his lack of concern.
This is horrible customer service! Avoid this business unless you want to be treated like me. Shame on management for not properly training their staff and showing you care about your customer. You lost a...
Read moreIn my opinion, the smoothie and food is extremely overpriced (they just raised the prices again 2 weeks ago) and the customer service is below standard. Very rude experience with some of the young girls here. It's sad to see a small business ran like this. They charge extra for peanut butter but dont have the courtesy to ensure you get what you pay for. The young Black and Hispanic Manager with glasses never greet me or my wife or thank us for coming in. Most offensive, is the former, she is extremely slow and always confused about what is going on. It takes her 15 minutes to make a smoothie. I have spoken to her directly and the manager about her customer service but it is the same every time. No improvement. I have come in several times and not a single person is in the front. Think about it, without customers you have no paycheck.
The young lady (Caucasian) with the clear glasses actually took the time to thank me for coming in this morning, and she didn't even help me. She even greeted me with a smile across the kitchen. Kudos to her for being an awesome individual with great customer service skills. Unfortunately, my wife and I have had one too many bad experiences here at this location, so we will no longer patronize this location. We won't spend our money where it is not appreciated. Best wishes to your business because the owner seems to be very kind and business saavy. And I encountered some really awesome staff members who care about serving and making customer selections to their expectations, And that is what customer service...
