Abuelo's is probably one of my favorite places to eat. The papas are amazing! The queso, chips and salsa variety is great. I always get the Durango on the lunch menu and enjoy it immensely, with a little to take home for later.

This location is always clean and professional, but yesterday's experience was a little off-putting. Our server was exceptionally friendly and courteous, but a little too friendly. As my table was talking in a conversation together and discussing something, the waiter included himself and said he wanted to stick around to see one of the photos I was trying to find on my phone. After I was unable to pull the photo up within a few seconds since I was trying to find the picture from December 2017, he said "never mind- i'll just google it" (I was trying to find an example of something my table was discussing).

Later on when it came time to pay, one member of the group wanted to pay for 3 of the meal tickets, while everyone else was separate (it was for my birthday). The waiter put the wrong ticket on his tab and instead of changing it, told us it was only a 50 cent difference, didn't offer to fix it, and swiped the credit card through the machine on the table for the lady who ultimately ended up paying for my food. He dismissed it as an "oops" on his part instead of getting the manager to fix it.

It was only 50 cents, but also it was the principle of the entire situation, everyone felt the waiter should have handled it differently.

I do like this Abuelo's and have been several times, but I would definitely request a different...

Our waiter was a guy named keith with skin tags on his ear or something like that "said respectfully" he is definitely not a people's person he is real short worded talks too fast for customers to understand the menu and what he is saying. I didn't understand something on the menu and he took it from me turned to a certain page real fast "like he had an attitude " then handed it back to me and said nothing he just stood there he didn't even elaborate on what the item was even after he rushed to the page. we felt rushed like he was busy and didn't have time for us during the ordering process. the ribeye was definitely super tuff and had no flavor big mistake and it came out medium i wont order that again. I didn't complain to him at all I just didn't eat it. the bacon wrapped shrimp was good as always. I definitely dont want him as our waiter ever again then to make matters worst I give him the cash before he walks off he asks us do you want your change? what kind of person asks the customer that? you make the transaction then the customer decides if they will give you a tip and according to his attitude during our ordering he didn't deserve a tip at all. we still tipped him but with that attitude he needs to work back of the house. if you don't like people or certain people you don't need to be serving them. last time we went our waiter was a really nice guy so I can't say it's the restaurant as a whole. it was a disturbing experience for me I'm sorry but I had...

We had high hopes of eating here, especially since a student in my class gave me a gift card for Abuelos. When we walked in we were pleasantly surprised by the pretty decor and atmosphere. After we were seated they brought tortilla chips and different salsas to our table while we waited for our food. I ordered chicken enchiladas and my husband got the steak fajitas. I mostly enjoyed my chicken enciladas but they were not the tastiest that I've had. The sides were just so so, nothing special. The steak fajitas had a good flavor but not as tasty as we have had elsewhere. The big disappointment was the wait staff. Our server Cameron took our order with minimal chatting which was fine however, she never came back throughout our whole meal to see how we were doing and I desperately needed a refill on my drink. She kept walking by us without making eye contact. Finally I was able to get a knd bus boy's attention and asked him if I could have a refill, so he said he would see if he could help. About 7 minutes later, our server stopped by, quickly put a refill on the table without one word and took off. She seemed bugged that she had to do that! Finally, right when we were finished, she suddenly was sweet and kept asking if she could get me another refill and turned into a kinder person. I don't know if she was having a hard day or not, but the whole experience was not a positive one and I'm pretty sure we will not be going back. And I love...

Almost A+++ , More Like B+ Still great. Site guide review: Dined here on Jan 22. Quickly sat, but place was definitely cranking. Advise you get here prior to 6 pm or there may be a wait on a saturday night. Server seemed to have too many tables, was not only waiting on people, but she was also cleaning her own tables. The result was slower than usual service, definitely not her fault. Bree was our server, she was a great waitress. Started off with drinks, wife had sangria ( too much ice, barely any sangria but still great). I had a frozen sangria. Was amazing. We had the dip sampler (in photo). had 3 types of dips. Queso, bean and cheese mixture and guacamole . This was good however chips were not fresh and because of the service it took a while for the refill. Wife ordered the enchilada platter. Amazing food, always hot and cooked very well. I ordered the chicken quesadilla's as I was not starving after the appetizer. The quesadilla was not good at all. The meat inside was over marinated and pretty much inedible. This is where you lost the star. Was almost like little tiny weird crumbles of chicken, Like you ran out of chicken and just put shavings in. very odd but not the end of the world. Overall a great visit, definitely better than ZOCADAS ( that place is like a D+ now). For this review I give you a B++++ all the way
