I finally got the chance to check out Olive Root in The Colony, Texas, and honestly, I’m already planning my next visit. I went in kind of hungry, so I ordered a little bit of everything — the chicken kebab, beef kebab, lamb kebab, red cabbage salad, spicy hummus, and garlic fries. No regrets at all.

The kebabs were incredible — each one cooked perfectly. The chicken was super juicy and full of flavor, the beef was tender and had this amazing smoky char, and the lamb was rich without being too heavy, exactly how I like it. You could tell they really know what they’re doing with the seasoning and grill.

The red cabbage salad was a perfect, refreshing break between bites of the heavier meats. It had this nice crispness and a little tang that balanced everything out. The spicy hummus was awesome too — it had a solid kick without overwhelming the rest of the flavors, and it paired especially well with the garlic fries. Speaking of, those fries were addictive — crispy, golden, and absolutely loaded with garlic. I couldn’t stop picking at them even when I was full.

Overall, Olive Root blew me away. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully made. If you're into Mediterranean food — or honestly even if you're not — this place is worth the stop. Can't wait to go back and try more...

Came here on a date night and we were pleasantly surprised.

The atmosphere is that of a modern space just opened, with a very polished aesthetic. It’s a smaller place, could probably seat 15 parties comfortably. But everything felt very new and clean.

Bf and I each got a plate. Mine was lamb chops with grape leaves and Arabic salad with garlic sauce. I found everything I received very very good, including for value, and especially the lamb chops themselves. Easily plenty of food for ~$20 and all the sides were bright and flavorful, the pita was soft and warm, the garlic sauce was good if not a bit strong, and the chops were well seasoned and cooked.

I’d say they were definitely a bit understaffed, but we didn’t wait too incredibly long for any service.

I’ll also note that we definitely noticed a lot of families while there and they were very accommodating to young children.

Outstanding Mediterranean Experience – A Must Visit!

We had a fantastic dining experience at this Mediterranean restaurant. From the moment we walked in, the ambience was warm, welcoming, and beautifully styled, capturing the essence of the Mediterranean coast.

The service was impeccable – friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, offering great suggestions. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The kebabs were juicy, perfectly grilled, and packed with authentic spices. We especially loved the assortment of house-made pickles – a tangy, crunchy delight that paired so well with the mains.

Everything on the plate tasted freshly prepared and of high quality. This place truly understands how to balance flavor, presentation, and hospitality. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic...

This was my first experience. I walked in and was met with unexpectedly beautiful decor for a small restaurant in a shopping center. It’s dark blue and complimented white with gold accents. Immediately felt transported and I loved it. The welcome was warm and I was taken care of right away. I was told my order may take 10-15 minutes. The food came closer to 10 mins. Hot and fresh. I got the falafel which was crispy on the outside and perfectly tender on the inside. And SO flavorFULL! The falafel was on point. The tabouleh was perfectly balanced, the pickle mix was crisp and tart. The Arabic salad was very good as well. The garlic sauce was very garlicky just the way I like it. This was the soft opening. I plan to be back for the grand opening April 27th.
