Update August 1, 2025
I remember being a kid and I let someone down. My grandfather pulled me to the side and did what he did best. Gave me some of his wisdom. He told me "don't beat yourself up for not being perfect. You made a mistake. Luckily, life gives us opportunities to make things right. Go make it right."
It's been roughly 40 years since that lesson, but I've carried it with me ever since. So, it was only right that I extended that same grace to Seven Doors.
Upon my previous review, Chef Jacob reached out to me soon after. We corresponded via email and he invited me back for a second run. We set a date and time, and he promised me a "5-star experience."
Well, I must say....I didn't get the 5 stars. I received SEVEN star!!! Yup! Skipped right over six! lol
Once again, the place was super clean, welcoming, and the staff all wore smiles. Chef Jacob came out, greeted me, apologized again, and that direct, personal touch really made a huge impact on me. I could tell by his eagerness to host me again, and his humble approach, that he truly stands by his brand and it's reputation. He made me a believer of the Seven Door experience!
Food was delicious, and my waitress was outstanding! I never had a single want go unheard and she was all smiles the entire time!
I'm truly grateful that I had an opportunity to dine here again! They'll be seeing me soon!!
And, to you Chef Jacob, thank you for your generosity and eagerness to make things right!
You, and your entire staff, were awesome and I look forward to stopping by again in the near future!
Original Review
It takes a lot for me to leave a negative review as I'm usually a bit more lenient to minor issues and places being busy. So, I can understand how high activity moments can lead to small mistakes. Those are fine. This was my first, and likely last time, visiting Seven Doors. And, it's very unfortunate because I actually enjoyed the environment, food, and drinks. It was the poor table service that I had a problem with.
We arrived about 7:20-7:30pm on Saturday, July 12th. It was storming pretty bad, so they weren't too busy. Door staff was very friendly. Place looked great! We were seated and a gentleman approached us immediately to get us drinks and appetizers. He mentioned that "he'd get us drinks and we'd be taken care of by another." Drinks arrived quickly and we sat there for about 10 minutes, significant time to look over the menu. Looking around during that time, we noticed that the gentleman who took our drink order was actually working the bar that night. An additional 10-15 minutes passed and still, no one had stopped by to take our order. I told my guest that "I'd give a few more minutes and I'd go find someone." Eventually, I had to get up to find someone to take the order. The young lady apologized, covered the round of drinks, and took our order.
Food was delicious! Really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, no one stopped by to check if we needed anything extra the entire meal. We finished and began to wait for our check. We waited an additional 20 minutes before I, again, had to get up and find someone to cash out with. I was able to get the attention of the gentleman from the bar. He was awesome the entire time, apologized again, and we were able to check out.
I'm unsure of the "why" this occurred, but I just found it very distasteful that I had to leave my table multiple times in order to find someone to assist us.
Again, food was great, drinks were great, loved the environment. Just with the experience could have been completed with a table service...
Read moreI recently celebrated my 51st birthday with my family at Seven Doors in Grandscapes, Colony, Texas, and I must say, it was an extraordinary dining experience from start to finish. From the moment we stepped onto the outdoor patio, we were captivated by the inviting ambiance that set the stage for an unforgettable evening.
To kick off our meal, I opted for the iceberg wedge, and it was a true delight. The combination of crisp iceberg lettuce, tangy red onions, juicy heirloom tomatoes, and the crowning glory of man candy bacon and blue cheese crumbles was a symphony of flavors. The creamy blue cheese dressing tied everything together perfectly, adding a rich and indulgent touch to this classic salad. It was a refreshing and satisfying start to the meal.
Next up were the truffle fries, and they exceeded all expectations. Each golden fry was delicately drizzled with truffle oil, sprinkled with parmesan cheese, and served with a tantalizing truffle and kalamata aioli. The aroma alone was enough to make our mouths water. With every bite, we were treated to a harmonious blend of earthy truffle notes and the salty goodness of the parmesan cheese. The aioli added a delightful tang that elevated the fries to new heights. These fries were a true indulgence and a must-try for any truffle lover.
For the main course, I couldn't resist the allure of the PEI mussels in the classic garlic-white wine sauce. Served with perfectly grilled ciabatta, this dish was a seafood lover's dream come true. The mussels were plump, tender, and bathed in a flavorful broth that expertly balanced the rich garlic and white wine. The grilled ciabatta served as the perfect vessel for sopping up the sauce, ensuring not a drop went to waste. It was a dish that showcased the kitchen's mastery of flavors and left us craving more.
One aspect that truly stood out during our visit was the exceptional service provided by the friendly and attentive waitstaff. They were knowledgeable, accommodating, and added a warm touch to the already inviting atmosphere. Their recommendations and attentiveness made our dining experience even more enjoyable.
Additionally, Seven Doors boasts an impressive selection of craft cocktails that deserve special mention. The mixologists behind the bar are true artisans, creating unique and innovative concoctions that tantalize the taste buds. Whether you prefer a classic cocktail or an adventurous creation, you're sure to find something that pleases your palate.
Overall, Seven Doors in Grandscapes left an indelible mark on my birthday celebration. The delectable dishes, including the tantalizing iceberg wedge, truffle fries, and mouthwatering PEI mussels, showcased the culinary expertise of the kitchen. The charming outdoor patio provided a delightful ambiance, perfect for a celebratory gathering with loved ones. The friendly waitstaff went above and beyond to ensure our evening was nothing short of exceptional. And let's not forget the craft cocktails that added a touch of sophistication to the entire experience.
Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply seeking a memorable dining experience, Seven Doors is a culinary gem that should not be missed. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a combination of outstanding cuisine, a welcoming atmosphere, and...
