Mr. Darrin brought redemption back to my old favorite of many. One of faves(This was one of my faves over it fake service for tips). Reduced stars and status third time I have had a problem in the Calumet City Denny’s on Torrence Ave. Called to get the servers name who assisted me so I could give her props for good service but after holding for over TWENTY-TWO MINUTES. I hate giving bad reviews but when staff ignore calls with false assumptions will cause a point for bad reviews. Business should pay attention to the reviews that get more views and post more reviews. Because not everyone wants to give bad reviews. So now that I found my receipt Leanna B was the server I hear her in the background but not ever did she pick up the phone. I believe the green hair girl answered the phone. I will eat else where. Also the Philly steak omelette was not the best. The meat was to thick and creative had better. I rather spend my money elsewhere because my neighborhood Dennys is not worth it. Very sad. An FYI, if you are trying to call now to put in the order, you can hang it up cause they’re gonna leave the phone off the hook for a while for fear of me calling him back and I know this cause I used to work for restaurants that would do customers in the most dirtiest way, so I’m really done with this Denny’s. I do not complain. I do not whine about everything you can go through all of my Reviews and see I have very few bad complaints, but it was very much so warranted. This is a group thing not just the individual thing even though Caucasian manager I heard her voice at the phone and I heard her voice when I came in to place my order so I’m pretty good at voices so this is really a pathetic Denny’s that’s why they have a low score and if you look at all those who do give good reviews look at the amount of reviews. These people put in if their reviews is under 100. They are just giving the place a review for that brief moment, they’re not real reviewers real reviewers put in the effort in the time to review a place business...
Read moreI would stop by here three times a week and order the second thing which is biscuits and gravy, country fried steak with hash brown. I normally get this waitress who is either black or Latino who wears her hair in a bun or ponytail. She always gives me good service. On this particular day I got another waitress. Things started off fine but when my food came out they used the country sawmill gravy on the biscuits instead or the sausage gravy. When my waitress came back in told her that they didn't give me the right gravy on my biscuits. I wasn't upset but she became very defensive and told me that I didn't specify what kind of gravy I wanted. I told her that I shouldn't have to specify because the menu states what kind of gravy comes with the biscuits. She continued to tell me I didn't get what I wanted because I didn't request it. In the middle of me talking she just scooped up my plate and left. When she returned with my food I asked for the manager. The manager was a nice young man who agreed withemail and apologized for her attitude. Another thing that I didn't like was after talking to the manager, she never came back for refills or to check on me. She did come by and drop off the bill though. So for the most part I had no service. The manager did reduce my bill but service was terrible. I also recommend that you avoid this place on the weekends. Terrible service. I waited 40 minutes for my order and when the food came, the fixed me 2 separate orders for what I normally get for one. I had to go ask for boxes and my check. I did still tipped waitress on my weekend visit but the lady who gave me the wrong food during the week got nothing. If you make a mistake, own it and move on. Don't argue with the customers. Read moreThis by far has got to be one of the most unprofessional establishments in River Oaks. Not only did this "manager " Toya attempt to embarrass paying customers, she embarrassed herself along with this establishment. The audacity of this "manager" to talk to a customer or any person for that matter with anything but respect when she is hired to display common courtesy to other human beings. The lack of concern that she had for her job as a manager as she yelled across this establishment that she is a cosmetologist and she does not care about that job. The wait time was absolutely horrible, the service was subpar. And the desert had a hair in it from the cook who obviously is not wearing any sort of hair nets. A refund or any sort of discount was never requested but a simple bill was asked for and this manager snickered at the customer and laughed and continued on with her business as if a customer was not speaking to her in a respectful manner at that. As a customer who finds hair in their meal, an apology was very well due, at least, and definitely some respect. This manager began to yell at the customers and when the customer dismissed her she attempted to try to kick them out of the establishment because they refused to engage in an argument with her. So she called the police, wasting their time and taxpayers money. So if you choose to patronize this establishment please be prepared for this type of treatment if there are any kind of errors with your food. And taxpayers be aware that your money is being wasted by subpar managers such as this person....
