Best Bahn mis on the north side! They have the regulars, and they have a few interesting novel bahn mis. The two questions that were asked everytime some one came to the counter is what is the House Special and what is Bun Bo Hue (BBH). The "House Special" is a combo of 3 porks (roast, patê, bbq) along with everything on it (pickled veg, cilantro, sauce) The "Bun Bo Hue" takes all the ingredients of the soup (patê, onions, basil, bbq pork, cilantro) and puts in the bun. The clever thing here is the broth that comes with it, so you can dip!
We got the roast pork and the BBH. The bread was done really well with the crunchy (not too crunchy) outside and the pillow soft inside. The roast pork was good, but I would like to have a crunchier cracklin. The BBH was great! Love the broth, not spicy like the soup but really flavourful. I also really liked having the onions in basil in the sandwich. This was a really clever idea!
New, cool feeling inside, with casual seating as well as table tops. Feels like a coffee shop that does really good sandwiches.
They have some really pretty deserts like berliners, mouse cakes, and macaroons.
The service was great, and they were very excited to help and to make sure I had the best experience.
I am going to go back and get the lemongrass beef bahn mi next time, which is not on the main menu. I'm so glad we have this up here and glad it...
Read moreIf you’re looking for the perfect Vietnamese cafe, look no further than Ca Phe. This cozy gem specializes in Bánh Mì and Vietnamese iced coffee, and both are absolutely incredible. The Bánh Mì sandwiches are a perfect balance of crispy, airy bread and flavorful fillings, packed with fresh herbs, pickled veggies, and just the right amount of heat. I highly recommend the Bun Bo Hue Banh Mi. The Vietnamese iced coffee is strong, smooth, and delightfully sweet—exactly what you need for a midday pick-me-up.
Beyond the food and drinks, Ca Phe also serves fantastic pastries. Whether you’re craving cakes, cookies, or something uniquely Vietnamese like Banh Bao, their selection is top-notch.
The ambiance is another highlight. The cafe is beautifully decorated, with warm lighting, charming Vietnamese-inspired decor, a beautiful mural, and a cozy atmosphere that makes you want to stay for hours. It’s the perfect spot to catch up with friends, get some work done, or just enjoy a quiet moment with a delicious drink.
If you love Vietnamese flavors and a welcoming, aesthetically pleasing space, Ca Phe is a must-visit! I’m very thankful this place is...

We got the egg banh mi and house banh mi. We thought the bread was very good and equivalent to New Saigon and better than CoNu. The vegetable fillings in the Bahn Mi were also good. My girlfriend liked the house Bahn Mi but I thought my egg one was so so - the egg didn't have a ton of flavor so I'm hoping they spice the egg up or add something else pescatarian/vegetarian to the menu. Also note that they put chili oil in the Bahn Mi. I think the flavor is very very good but my girlfriend can't handle spice and this was way too hot for her. Maybe a heads up for spice intolerant when you purchase would be nice as this is not a normal topping in Bahn Mi.
We also got the house tea which we thought was good. The flavor of the tea was great and the boba was a great consistency. We thought the boba was slightly under seasoned however. Still worth getting.
We also talked to the owner who was super nice and were wishing him the best of luck. This is worth trying, especially if...
