This is a hidden gem! I live in LA, this Sunday I came to Thousand Oaks to visit and we tried this restaurant!
The food was amazing, service was excellent. Everyone kept checking customers to make sure they are having a great time. I felt like I am visiting one of my family! They treat you like a family ( which is their story anyways) a passion for love and create and give each person feeling content.
Our waiter ( David ) was lovely, he make sure we choose what we like, he was patient and had a pleasant attitude.
The quality of care/custom service is act as simple as this when we asked if they have a stronger coffee, they made a fresh cup and did bring a new cup so we will try what we are asking for instead of carelessly pouring over our coffee.
We live in an era everyone has high expectations without appropriate little things. Simple things matter, simple care says about the culture of the place. I will come back and if someone asks do you know the best breakfast in Thousands of oaks that is my first choice.
I tried all these new-age places and I did nothing but disappoint in either...
Read moreA seriously delicious local country diner up in Thousand Oaks. I drove up specifically for Bo’s from West LA and was happy that I made the trip. It’s in a lot sleepier part of town compared to where I am from so it was nice to have easy parking and no wait lines. They have a free parking lot out front and outback plus street parking so it will never be an issue finding a spot. Inside is quite small, but there are a lot of tables and the service is fast so I would guess that they turn quickly. Our server was very polite and everything that we ordered came out lightning fast. I also thought the coffee was particularly good and was especially strong.
For our meal, we chose the California Omelette, which was terrific and was a very large sized portion as well as a Small Dutch Baby and a Belgian Waffle. The Dutch Baby was a bit smaller than I was expecting, but still great in flavor and the waffle was fantastic. Honestly, one of the best waffles I’ve had in a long time. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area and would put it on my list of great...
Read moreMy son and I have been testing out the breakfast scene in Ventura county for a while now and for the most part the bulk of them disappoint, but not Harold’s. Harold’s is the diamond disguised as a dive. The parking is non-existent, the wallpaper is peeling, the carpet is soiled shades of brown, the glass table tops have more chips than Doritos and the curtains came from the Bates motel yard sale, but the food, oh the food, it’s 100% satisfying. We all have our own yardstick we carry with us when it comes to the perfect traditional breakfast- mine has been eggs n things for years- and I’m telling you Harold’s may replace your expectation, because it has mine. Perfect hash browns, perfectly cooked eggs, the most tender yet crispy chicken fried steak covered with an honest and delicious thick gravy. Harold’s doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel, they just make it perfectly round. Service is good, speed of food is fantastic, cost is on par with every other place. Harold’s is the proverbial “hole-in-the-wall” and...
