You will not find a better Mediterranean restaurant in all of Ventura County!! Highly recommend!!

Last August, my mother and I went to this incredibly friendly restaurant. They have so many options, and I was excited they have falafels. I ordered beef kofta and falafels, and tried both the saffron and spiced rice. Omgsh! One of the best meals of my life. The falafels were cooked to perfection, not too soft and not overly crispy. The beef kofta was tender and spiced well. The saffron rice was very good, however, the spiced rice is 🤌🏼 it is the most flavorful rice—you will ever have. I still remember both the sweet and savory notes. Which I loved.

Not only is the food excellent, but the quality of the friendly environment is immediately felt. We were lucky enough to be served by the owner, Shamel. He made you feel like old friends. My mother and I so enjoyed talking with him and hearing about his passion for food and family.

The food was delicious and we had a wonderful experience! The man who took our orders was lovely and gave us a bunch of tasty sauces to try, as well as some saffron rice. He allowed me to combine the curly fries plate with the mixed meat option (I got spicy chicken and lamb), which was a solid meal.

This is a small family business and they really cook their food fresh and you can taste it. Thus, the wait is closer to a restaurant wait than the fast food that you might be used to with other gyro places, even though the ambiance is more akin to such fast food joints.

But we had plenty of seating for a table of 8. We got a variety of dishes and everyone loved their choices. The meat was cooked well (they even ask how you want your lamb cooked), tasted yummy, and I particularly enjoyed the spices in the spicy chicken and the sauces he brought. The lamb was my favorite. The only knock was that the curly fries were luke-warm, maybe because all the food was brought out together even though we ordered a bit staggered as our friends showed up. The fries were still delicious and I still waited to eat most of them at the end.

It is unclear from the parking where the entrance is. The parking is at the back of the restaurant. So, we have to go around to search for the entrance. I asked if the food is halal, they said yes. However, there was no halal sign anywhere. It should be explicitly mentioned to avoid confusion. I am still not sure if the food was halal or not as the restaurant might not have understood my question, or may be I didn’t understand their answer. It is preferable to explicitly mention this. The food was very good. I recommend chicken/beef/lamb with rice The restaurant was polite. The atmosphere was good. We can either sit inside, or outside. One suggestion is to add green sauce as another option. Please update the prices on the menu as well as online. The price that was listed at the restaurant was higher than online menu. The price that was charged was higher than listed prices at the restaurant. There is a confusion regarding this. All old menu should be deleted and updated menu must be posted to avoid...
