Boy, where do I start. We drove out to this pub from Oxnard to see some cover bands for the Down the Rabbit Hole fest. Upon going inside the bar which was busy, we waited in line to grab some beers. First problem I noticed is their layout. It's completely off and does not allow for natural flow of those around you eating, trying to get outside, trying to go to the bathrooms way in the back, or just fighting to stand in one spot in line without having to move every two seconds for everyone. Then, they have the registers in their own separate areas, and because it was so busy and the music was so loud you couldn't hear the staff members calling you up to take your order. So instead of an employee directing you to whatever portion of the counter they're calling you to, they SCREAM at you from the top of their lungs to come over to the counter and place your orders. Then I got screamed at again by the blonde working behind the counter because although she thought I was cutting in line which they place smack dab in the middle of the restaurant to "PLEASE GET TO THE BACK OF THE LINE", she realized I kept walking because I was trying to get to the bathrooms towards the back. Then there's the food. Way overpriced and every item we ordered tasted like they picked the worst chefs in America to cook for them. The beers weren't any good either. Only good thing about this location was the cleanliness. It was a beautiful restaurant. The name doesn't reflect the venue either. They should really consider changing the name from Pedels and Pints to Karins...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe visited Pedals and Pints for the first time for my birthday. They have part of their parking lot cordoned off and partially covered for outdoor seating. Tables are spaced at least 8 feet apart.
They have their own brew to satisfy any taste, from a light, American-style lager, to pale ales and IPAs, to a medium-bodied Irish red, and the full-bodied stout. I ordered the Irish Red and my wife ordered the light lager, which were both very good.
They have an appetizer menu full of tots that will suit any taste: Thai, Mexican, or Italian. We had the garlic tots with parmesan, and they were delicious! I highly recommend them.
For our main meals, we ordered pizza--3, in fact: a vegetarian, a 3-cheese and a kids cheese. The crust was perfectly charred, chewey and thin, but without being soggy. They were generously sauced, and the vegetable toppings where perfectly tender-crisp. This was unexpectedly good pizza! They had to have been made in a wood-fired oven to give that smokey flavor to the crust. I thought the pizzas were a single serving each, but one pizza can feed two people. If you want leftovers, then go with a pizza per person.
We enjoyed our first visit to Pedals and Pints, and I recommend you give them a try, too. You won't be disappointed. We're...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMet up here on a Sunday afternoon, the place is spacious, allowing for a comfortable dining experience, sat at an indoor elevated table, but the place has both booths as well as patio seating. The selection of beers is good from this brewery, They have a range from lager to stout, I was able try 3 of the 7 house pints, all tasty, the favorite by consensus was the the 'Hazy IPA'. For food they have pizzas and salad, the pizza varieties are good, and different than the average pepperoni, They had a pizza with chorizo, one with clams, but the choice we decided on was the veggie pizza, and a caeser's salad, both satisfying and made with fresh ingridients. The pizza was cooked to near perfection, the crust had crunch, was not overly doughy, and the vegetables maintained their crunch after cooking. Staff was friendly, and the place is keeping with safety guidelines with the dining room open. Nice time, and will be back to give other beers a try, and see what new flavors will...
