We frequently eat at this restaurant, it being my father's newfound go-to with authentic Italian dishes, however, despite him having an issue with a takeout order and the owner going back and forth with him claiming he prepared the order himself when it was incorrect according to his receipt( and literally in front of his face with him finally offering a 10% discount on the bill). We've had no problems until my father's birthday. We dined in, and although it was semi-busy and only one waitress working and one bus girl, the waitress forgot the extra dressing for my fathers and grandfather's salads that came with their meal, I had to go up front and ask for it myself, my brother never received his place setting, after asking 3 times. The soup was minestrone not vegetable as requested, and wasn't brought out with the salad, it was brought out shortly after the entrees. We're very much go-with-the-flow, understanding people but ma'am upon walking into the restaurant I spoke with you our waitress about it being my father's birthday and dessert with a candle which I had brought just in case, my grandfather did, and then after finishing our meals and awkward looks and asking you again, we received the check, still waited, and waited while you refused to make eye contact, and then gave up and left. You ruined that part of his day, it be okay being a tradition in our family that a candle and wish being made on your birthday is a must. Thanks for that. I attempted to speak to the lady up front and I received an eye roll and instructions on how to pay with a card which Isn't rocket science. We ordered two drinks (self-serve soda), two French fries that tasted great, and two cheesesteaks that were absolutely huge—definitely more than we could eat. The two staff members who helped us were extremely friendly, which we really appreciated. The location has a small parking lot and was mostly clean. The bathroom, however, was disappointing. The space felt uninviting with dark walls and limited room, the steps leading up to it needed cleaning, and they were out of hand towels. The toilet rocked as if it wasn’t secure, which was concerning. Ordering is done at the counter, and then the food is brought to your table. Nobody comes back to check on you, so the experience is more like a fast-food setup (similar to Hardee’s or McDonald’s) rather than a sit-down restaurant. The owners have been good to give us a considerable discount as regular customers, but there are downsides We have long had problems with delivery timing -- sometimes the order arrives very late and sometimes very early. Usually everything is correct, but things like napkins and plates are frequently missing (even though included in the order). Communication is dicey. The people who answer the phones don't always seem to be fully paying attention or aware of what is going on with the order. But the biggest problems are with the drivers. They are often inconsiderate, impossible to communicate with, and unapologetic about late or early deliveries. At least one delivery person is extremely rude and has no qualms about letting the most profane insults pour out of his mouth. When the company you ordered from makes a mistake, you don't expect to be called a four-letter word. You expect an apology.
