Okay. I am torn about this place. The service seemed rushed, yet slow and understaffed (understandable with the times). They also are discouraging people to eat in the restaurant, so if you want take out, that's what they want, as of current. The staff member was telling people over the phone just to order take out because if they come in, that it would be an hour wait after they were seated because they are so busy.
Most of the food was a 4 out of 5 which is good. The "Chicken Lol Mien" (4.5 out of 5) was really good and flavorful, the chicken was cooked perfectly and the noodles where a delight and especially their carrots. The "Beef and Broccoli" (4 out of 5) was a tiny bit over cooked and a little tough, however, still good. The "Pad See Ew"... fantastic! (5 all day) The "Summer rolls" seemed bland and relying a lot on just mint leaves to carry the weight, and I am no stranger to summer rolls. I make them myself with the rice paper and all. (2 out of 5) the "Drunken Noodles with Chicken" I actually can't give a rating because I didn't use me eyes to read that it was really, REALLY spicy. If you like spicy, get this. Get the "One Drunken Noodles" challenge! I could've used WAY less "Burning inferno" in my mouth. And finally. The "Scallion Pancakes" (2 out of 5) I can't taste any scallion... At all. Maybe they ran out of...
Read moreVery disappointed with the service, food, and unwelcoming feeling that Vong’s provided (on a birthday dinner no less). Although I have been prior and had an ok experience, this last visit was laughably awful. I will never return and I recommend you do not either. It took two hours to get our 3 meals even though there were only 4 tables seated, the waitress either ignored us, yelled at us for receiving the wrong food, or gave us a half hearted insincere apology for the food wait time and lack of continuity between her ordering skills and the kitchen. Once I was finally brought the wonton soup which came with my meal, the waitress YELLED across the room that it “wasn’t mine” and that she “hadn’t even put” our order in the computer yet- even though it had been a solid 10-15 minutes. It was unprofessional, embarrassing, and completely uncalled for. I’m addition, the bill is dealt with right at the table on a hand held device and the waitress watches you - annoyed - when you pay and tip. It was uncomfortable and awkward for everyone in the dining room. Definitely a birthday dinner to remember though and the fried bananas were decent, but that’s all I’ve got...
Read moreAmazing! We have been to Thai restaurants all over the world due to military life, and every item we have ordered here at Vong’s has been literally the best we have ever had. This is a real gem in Tilton with authentic Thai recipes. Cooks are Thai experts on these dishes. We drive 45 minutes at least twice a week at times to eat here. The staff is always friendly, cooks will bring food out, and they take great pride in ensuring their food is excellent. The lunch box option is a great array of selections to enjoy! The panang curry, cashew nut chicken, pad prik, pad Thai, Tom yum soup, and more have ALL been the best we have had. A family run authentic Thai eatery, and great service. We have been here numerous times, and never a bad experience. Prices are reasonable, and better than most other Thai restaurants that serve less portions and not as good. Kudos to the hard work, effort and time this family and restaurant puts into the obvious pride, quality and taste of excellent Thai cuisine! Thank you!! Some of the best fried ice cream we have had too! Authentic rolled outer shell, and not the soggy corn flake shell most places...
