Denny's — Restaurant in Tinicum Township

This experience was quite possibly one of the worst experiences that i've ever had at a Denny's. In the restaurant I was told to stand and wait while they had basically a 1/2 empty dining room....However the rest of the tables that weren't empty all had dishes from prior customers on it. The place is atrociously Understaffed and the terribly untrained young caucasian girl and the smart mouth, caucasian, roughly groomed young boy, are ill equipped to deal with customers In a professional manner. They wanted me to sit for about 15 minutes before taking my order while Looking at all sorts of other tables with dirty dishes and excess food items from previous customers. This is totally unacceptable and a dining experience disaster! I ended up leaving because the manager was the cook and anyone else in there was doing basically nothing to move the line. Another couple who wanted to pay actually left out because they were taking so long Just to even come to the register and collect the money. Perhaps the owner should actually visit at night and look at how Horribly run this restaurant is at night time; and also see what poor service and how rude the employees are behaving. It would be great if they could only get someone who could bus/clean the tables and do some other work besides staying in the back and just putting orders together. They really Didn't need 2 people waiting for orders while the place was so filthy.. While customers that you do sit, don't want to see or sit around and look at Filthy tables at 6 different tables before they get their food; because it makes you lose your appetite. Just a horrible experience overall and I'll never go back to that place or recommend other people from my company who stay at the nearby hotels to visit there. It's just too bad that they don't have zero stars because this is truly what this place deserves. As if it's in the middle of nowhere or the ghetto and employees treated It exactly like I stated it , is the way they treated it. Just trifling... Very very poor performance and Atmosphere to eat in.. Every other Denny's that I've eaten in, the employees wear uniforms and name tags. However, this one seems to be a come as you are or how you wake up. Even combing your hair when you come to work or go back in the restroom and comb your hair After you get there. God, it's like he just rolled up out of bed and came straight to work, not even bothering to put on a uniform wear appropriate clothes, look professional, or anything he's just saying basically, you should be glad that I'm here.. Just totally unprofessional appearance and demeanor. You guys really should do...

I normally don't like to complain as I ordinarily never have an issue here, but I feel as though this is a big enough issue to write a complaint in hopes things are fixed.

We went here to try and get dinner tonight (1/18/2025) but we were waiting over half an hour with a few other people. One lady was waiting for carryout, and a couple and another woman were also waiting to be seated to the best of my knowledge. The lady waiting for carryout said she had been waiting since 6:55pm and at that moment I checked my phone, it was 7:35pm.

We completely understand when businesses are understaffed and there might be a bit of a wait time, however the sole waitress who had long braids they had working didn't even acknowledge us. No, "Hey, sorry, we're understaffed right now so there might be a big of a wait," or, " Hey, we're not accepting customers currently due to being understaffed." Just ignored us, like we were invisible.

Like I said... I do not like to complain, however, not at least acknowledging customers is unacceptable in my opinion. I understand that you never know what someone is going through and everyone is human, but come on. You need to train your people on how to handle customers, not just dump a plate on someone's table. We would have been more than understanding if they even just acknowledged us with a short, enthusiastic conversation about...

Ew. It smells musty and dirty the moment you walk in and are greeted by the completely empty front desk… have to literally flag a worker down to get seated. Watched many people just seat themselves and hope that someone would help them. The floors are disgusting! They should be embarrassed at the appearance of this establishment. So sad, it used to be so nice and I had fond memories of good late night snacks or family meals there. Not anymore. About 10 workers but only one actually helping people- every item came out with an excuse as to how the kitchen messed this and that up.. our food came out in to go boxes- server placed them down and said “I don’t know why the kitchen did this” then why wouldn’t you fix it before you came out with our food to trash talk your chef?! She brought out plates for our food..that we plates ourselves. It wasn’t til we were done our meal that our waitress came out with more plates for us which were clearly not needed. At first I felt bad for our waitress as she seemed to be the only one working and was being Run around like a maniac and then I noticed her taking 3 cigarettes breaks in a 10 minute span. Weird experience that left me totally grossed out and slightly considering calling the board of health on this disgusting establishment. Do yourself a favor and go to stargate diner where the standards are...
