Last time my wife and I went here a couple months back it was good. However I don't know what's changed but the diner isn't what it used to be. My wife ordered a JD burger as seen in the photo. 1st time the server came to the table, she realized the onions were on the wrong burger. This was AFTER she left the counter and aren't you supposed to check to make sure a customers order is right BEFORE you leave? Not only that but the bun was so soggy because it was drenched in the JD sauce and there was enough salt on it to give you a heart attack. There was enough onions thrown on the burger for 2 entire hamburgers and the burger was well done instead of being medium like we ordered it. We had them fix. It.
2nd time we got it back. It looked like they did nothing to it and it was cut in half from when my wife cut it to see how much it was cooked. They didn't refire the burger at all and it looked as they just wiped the JD sauce off and put the same mountain load of onions on. My wife ended up eating it anyway because she was hungry even though I insisted otherwise.
When I went up to go pay it for it, I asked for a manager. The lady there Denise said she was and said it very disrespectful. I'm sorry but if your the manager of a diner you don't tell the customer to just speak. You greet them first. Her and the server we had BSed their way to make me pay full price for our meal. I even asked them that the burger should have been made again regardless of what mistake there was and they said that they don't remake anything unless the burger doesn't taste right. And by industry standards you are supposed to remake a burger regardless if there's any mistakes. Their cook should not be there if they don't know anything about food and neither should their manager.
I also saw the same server tell a child that was with her grandmother that they didn't have any Ice cream and that she should go to McDonald's if she wanted a sundae. You NEVER say anything that unprofessional to a customer. Not only that but bringing a piece of cheese and bacon to a customer instead of taking the burger back and making it right.
What the hell has happened to the quality of this diner. This was a good place to come and eat and now it's gone down to fast food quality. They need to change something, or hire people who know restaurant...
Read moreI have been to Steve's Diner on multiple occasions and have thourghly enjoyed everything - from ease of parking to the pleasant home atmosphere and being warmly greeted to the fair-priced menus and the double helpings you get everytime. To the waitresses who work very hard and with a smiling face. They easily deserve at least 25% at the minimum. 30-40 % makes everyone involved feel good all over!!! I should be giving it a 5 Stars. Based on what I've told you so far I think I should too! But I'm not. And here's why : I don't have a critical bone in my body for Steve's Diner. Know that up front. When I got to Steve's Diner last night, the parking was excellent as usual. I got out and started walking for the front door. However, Instead of the warm family greeting inside, I was coldly greeted with the words, "we're closed! " I was stunned! To say the least! I looked at my watch and it was 7:45pm and I knew they didn't close until 9pm sometimes 9:30 p.m. Before I could say anything, she said we close at eight now because of Covid19".I nodded my head and told her I was on the Internet and it said you closed at 9pm."Yeah that's true but that was all written up by a former employee who is no longer with us and we've been unable to retrieve the password from them." I didn't say another word because I was a bit irritated. But under my breath I told her how important it is to keep an up-to-date website if they are going to compete in the market place. My mouth was salivating thinking about that Rueban Sandwich Steve's makes. The Best! But it wasn't meant to be just now I hope through this review someone will take it heart and see that it is taken care of soon! Or, call in...
Read moreI had been looking for a place with really good fried chicken ever since I moved to this area 5 years ago
After mentioning it last week a friend told me that Steve's family diner was well known for their fried chicken.
Today a group of us were out in that exact area. So we went in. The restaurants parking lot was was packed at 12 PM yeah, which we all took to be a good sign
Upon walking into the establishment it was surprisingly large compared to what you expected it to be from outside. Getting a table for 5 was no problem we actually had 3 to choose from
I did order the fried chicken as my lunch along with mashed potatoes and gravy. 2 other members of my party also ordered the fried chicken, the remaining 2 had country fried steak and the other grilled pork chops
Everyone's food was fantastic.. The fried chicken was absolutely fresh out of the friar and way too hot to the touch. The flavor was superb it was very crunchy. The order contained half a chicken, 4 pieces.. Along with 2 sides and fresh bread-and-butter
The pricing was very very reasonable considered the quantity and quality of food that we received. Additionally the staff from the servers to the cashier to the gentleman who appeared to be the manager or owner were all very friendly very helpful and very polite
This establishment will be on my list of regular places to go whenever we're in the Titusville area
While there are several other items on their menu that are favorites of mine, the fried chicken is so good that I might never get to taste them
This place is worth visiting if you're in the Titusville...
