BM Chen Chinese American Restaurant — Restaurant in Toledo

BAD, BAD, BAD!!!!! Ordered 2 Sweet and Sour Chicken dinners and a pint of Shrimp fried rice. Let me start by saying this was mine and my Husbands first time eating here. We got carry-out the bill was almost $40, we were almost home and I smell a strong sweet smell so i grabbed the bag to see if it was something leaking. Yep the sauce was all over in the bag, because they sat all the heavy stuff on top of the sauce and the containers crushed the box with the sauce in it. By then I was very upset, tired and hungry. I called up there and they were willing to replace it, okay thats all good and all but I lived about 15 minutes away!! Anyways back to the food, the chicken when you chewed it, it felt like you was chewing on toothpicks and the Egg Rolls!!! OMG, HORRIBLE I have never tasted something so bad, it had a very very bad smell no idea what spices they used. The only descent thing to eat was the Rice!!! This was a a Sunday evening, I don't know if the cook was tired or just didn't care but I will NEVER go back...

I came to this location because I pass it all of the time and I live near here. I called to place an order for pick up, and the woman working the phones was trying to do a thousand things at once (give someone their food and take my order). I ordered chicken egg foo young and I asked for LO MEIN noodles on the side (they gave me pan fried noodles(?)). I was told 15-20 min for my food, but it took closer to 40 minutes. The woman was trying to take orders, help the people sitting down to eat, check me out, check someone else out, and try to see if my food was ready at the same time. I finally got my food and went home. It was still hot! There was no silverware in the bag which would suck for someone that just moved and didn’t have everything unpacked yet. The egg foo young was really good and tasty, but the pan fried noodles (that I didn’t ask for) were weird. I would be back but would obviously have to check my bag...

I do like this restaurant more then most. I'm extremely picky about my chicken but I've order the General tso twice now. I like the meat and that the outter side has a great crust. I'm not sure what it is tho that both my egg drop soup and chicken kinda had like a rice water gulten taste. The Egg drop soup is still nothing to complain about. Tho It was still topping most of Toledos Chinese restaurants by a far. From what I've seen its kept up and peaceful environment. The door does slam so don't sit your date at the first booth if no one is there they tend to put you there or at least they do me. I plan on going back just the serving size alone is good.
