It’s no Hong Kong Buffet that’s for sure. As someone that was married to an Asian woman it was the worst “Chinese” buffet i have ever been to. They have a Caucasian cooking the food is first thing I thought. That’s how badly the food was made. If you think it was good you do not eat Asian food much. They put a bunch of filler items in the buffet. Corn? Who goes to an Asian restaurant to eat corn? Nobody that’s why they put it out. Several others also. The food is not cooked properly. I’m no Hong Kong Buffet representative 😂 but it’s Considerably Better food. I mean like night and day. They gave every table one free dinner gift certificate. That was pretty cool but out of 3 of us we decided not to go back. I live right around the corner and nothing tasted good enough to make me want to drive a half mile for a free dinner. They may have added a grill but took out some of the buffet table. If you went when it was happy rose you will notice the buffet is smaller. As far as tipping. You pay when you come in and you get your own silverware cups and drink. The only thing they do is get empty plates off the table. I always tip 20% but if I spent $100 I’m not tipping $20 for someone to pick up 8-12 plates off my table. Last but not least. I normally check to see if a restaurant has received and health code violations but we just stopped driving by. I did see someone wiping the buffet of food people drop and the rag was touching the food in the pans in the buffet as they were wiping. The rag was not clean when they started. You can check the health code violations online for all...
Read moreUpdated review: have been back a few times since, and this last time was the last we will be in. My boyfriend has the worst food poisoning I've seen. Idk if it is spoiled meat or incorrect temperatures or what, but they were busy yesterday and I would not be surprised if he's one of several people who are incredibly sick today. Thankfully I stick to a couple safe foods so I am fine, but I think maybe the health department needs to have a visit to this location and check on things. Yikes.
Was really impressed with the selection, and thought the price point, especially considering the included beverage was reasonable. Rather large hibachi section, although I didn't try it this time since it was so busy with the grand opening this weekend, but looking forward to trying it next time. Favorite dish I tried this time was the lo mein, which was super good, usually do no like lo mein at buffets, but it was top tier. Also really liked the coconut chicken and general tsos. My boyfriend also really enjoyed the fish/seafood options, but I won't delve into that since I don't eat seafood. Really cool that you just pay at the door, and can get your own drinks. They were very busy (lined up out the door) but were trying their best to accommodate guests as quickly as possible. Really hope the standards of food/service continue because this will be a regular spot for us. All staff were friendly, and it is a very welcoming environment. Cannot think of a single negative thing to...
Read moreI don’t know why anyone would rate this place even decently. Everything is so disgusting. The shrimp is served with the shell on, even the deep fried shrimp still had a shell on it and not just a little bit, the entire shell, so you had to peel all of the deep fried breading off. The bathrooms are disgusting the fit and finish of the entire restaurant is extremely amateur. They use contact paper on their windows to cover them up and stick on rock texture above the overhead vents. The attendants don’t clean up the tables very frequently. everything is either bland or old, the sweet-and-sour sauce is watered down. The ice cream is watered down. Everything is just horrible. The only thing worth any redeeming quality and probably and the best value is the hibachi grill, which is pretty incredible for under $20. However, there’s not very many choices and they keep raw meat next to raw vegetables with tongs, touching and stuff. I don’t think it’s very good hygiene. Overall, the selection of food isn’t that varied much of it is completely flavorless, soggy, watered down, stale or overcooked. Personally, I think they charged far too little. I think if they charged more, they could afford better quality ingredients and fresher, food and better tasting food. I would happily pay $25 a plate if they used better quality ingredients, instead of $15 a plate for disgusting and inedible food. Hard pass...
