Frontera Sabores de México — Restaurant in Toledo

I was hungry for Mexican for lunch and was near its location on Airport Highway. I was happy to see my Chili Rellentos on the menu, or ordered it along with refried beans. ( Hold the rice, never have had Mexican rice that was worth the carbs.) The chili was delicious, cheesy inside, a little spicy from the chili. What made it outstanding was the sauce. The menu said it was a zuchinni and tomato sauce. Didn't sound great, but nothing I hated. The flavor was primarily tomato, the other vegetables gave it nice depth and subtle spices rounded it out. The service was efficient and very kind and polite. Toward the end of the meal, my server suggested more Coke. I asked for a half glass. When I tasted it was diet Coke, which I hate. I told him I had wanted a real Coke. He said he could get me one, I said no, I needed to leave. He offered a Coke to take along. I didn't want it, but it was nice of him to offer. Even with getting the wrong Coke, which I know is easy to do, he got a very nice tip. Part of my eating out budget these days is generous tips. They are out in the public and giving all of us a spot...

Immediately upon entering, a server was present to get me seated with almost zero wait time for my drink to arrive. Management came out and greeted me and asked me if I've been here before and engaged in a little small talk while I waited. The food came out within minutes of my order, granted business was light during lunch today. For the most part when experiencing Mexican dishes, I am partial to the flavor of my family and my kitchen but, I do not compare the plates. I grade them specifically on their presentation and on their flavor. I tried the enchilada with ground beef, the corn taco with cilantro onion and bistek, corn taco with cilantro, onion and barbacoa, enchilada with ground beef, tostada with bean and ground beef, and a side of beans, refried and rice. The presentation on every dish was delectable and the flavor was full and worthy of repeatable purchase. I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone who asked. Picked up a to go order... 30 minute round trip...If you forget the tortillas on steak fajitas you deserve a one star review, yes you forgot them. I will not order again due to the rudeness of this place. ....I called and was on hold 10 minutes to get a refund from the manager tomorrow since I have no tortillas to eat the fajitas.. The manager said no need to bring them back which was cool but I have no way to eat them and don't want anything free so they will go back tomorrow.... She then hung up on me before I could say goodbye..... lol....... Hard pass next time....

Update - I returned the fajitas and was given a hard time about a refund, they wanted to give me a gift card. The manager finally came over and was very rude, no apologies, no questions except how much did I pay. He handed me cash and was off to the next person in line waiting for him with a complaint....
