So today we celebrated my nephews seventh birthday. After driving an hour to see his basketball game we had plans to go to the Toledo IHOP. At 7 AM I called the restaurant to see if they offered any special services for the birthday boy. They told me that if he was a member he could get a free ice cream. I said I was not looking for anything free, that I was hoping maybe they had a special stack of pancakes or something. I was told no they do not do anything like that. So, after ordering for five adults and one seven-year-old our milks were brought to the table at $3.99 a glass they sat for 40 to 50 minutes prior to our meal being brought to us. My Belgian waffle was freezing cold, as were 3 peoples pancakes; their “homemade” sausage gravy was canned gravy with sausage links thrown on top of it. All 5 adults had cold food. 2 of us sent it back. 1 of us decide not to eat there when they offered to “reheat” the waffle two of us had already been touching. So fast forward an hour and 20 minutes after being seated a group of employees comes out to sing happy birthday to a man for sure over 30 years old. That was the last straw, I asked for the manager and politely told her that I had already paid my bill and tipped the waiter as well, but I felt the need to let her know her store was being ran VERY POORLY! They were not short staffed, we could see 7 to 9 employees working. And there were only about seven tables with people at them. The young lady that I walked up to to ask for the manager talked with me for a few minutes and explained to me that she had the flu and still was not feeling well and was going to be going home as soon as she was done wrapping the silverware. I wonder how many people will get sick from that! So $70 later I left hungry and had to get something to eat on the way home. IHOP throughout Canada is a wonderful restaurant to visit and that is why I suggested it for my nephew. I knew that we would have a good experience and great food, but that was not the case. They did take the charges off of my bill for one meal and our milks that had sat on the table for 45 minutes. The bill was still $63 and I tipped rounding it off to $70. I would suggest eating anywhere but this...
Read moreHubby and I tried IHOP for brunch after an emotional funeral of a dear loved one. Walked in and there was no one to greet us. Waited a couple minutes and a worker came over to seat us. It wasn't too busy but there were only two servers I noticed working the floor, seating guests and running the front counter.
We ordered a delicious mango infused lemonade and a wild berry lemonade both with fresh blueberries and our food. The drinks were delicious at almost $3 each! We were thirsty and drank them both down pretty quickly. While waiting we ate our blueberries and our server walked by several times to help others and noticed we needed refills but never asked because she was taking care of other tables and seated new guests.
I had a directed view of the kitchen and noticed that our order was up. I witnessed the other server look at my pancakes to see if they were for her table and she touched my cakes with her bare hands. She flipped one and looked under it and then under the second cake. She noticed it was not her order so she waited unaware that I was watching her touching my pancakes with no gloves on the entire time. The cook saw her touch them as well. When my server went to bring the plates to the table I informed her of what I witnessed and immediately asked for a fresh stack. I then also asked for a refill on the lemonade and she said they do not allow refills... I was shocked! It was way too good and way too small not to allow refills especially after what I witnessed. So we asked for waters. The fresh pancakes arrived and the server stated that they were untouched. I thanked her and ate.
The food and drinks were good. Prices were ok, save the no refill lemonade. Service was kind and courteous but scarce...not her fault. We complimented her efforts, gave her a generous tip and informed the other server to be more careful handling the orders with...
Read moreMy review may be biased, but at the same time, I don't work there anymore! Working there was awesome! I loved it. One day around Christmas time, I came in at 8 AM and was asked to start cleaning up my area around 10 AM... I had made a total of 3 dollars, I only had two tables in that two hours. I was having a great conversation with my last table when they had handed me their receipt that I needed them to sign due to the fact they paid with card. Well, I hadn't even looked at it until after I had cleaned everything up. Once I looked at it, they're bill was 31.72 or somewhere close to that and they tipped the bill! It was probably the greatest things that happened to me as a server at iHop. I loved the people I worked with, everyone was so helpful when I needed something; Kathy, Tony/Antonio, and more. The one down side was the manager. I got along with him very well, the only thing was, I typically was there 8 AM - 2 ish maybe 3. He got annoyed with me quite a few times because he tried to make me stay for 12 hours! I had only been there for maybe a month? We always ended up laughing it off because he always forgot I hadn't just walked in the door an hour prior or something. I ended up quitting only because my other serving job had offered me more hours and more opportunities in different positions if I were to open my availability.
Now as a customer, it does get frustrating waiting for your food. I completely get it. I never had to wait long to get waited on as a dine in customer. But as for doordash? Holy moly did it take forever! Minimum time I've spent in there waiting on an order for a doordash is 30 minutes. They definitely value their dine in /tipping customers more than they do...
