Chicken Express — Restaurant in Tomball

I placed an order online for pickup at 12:04pm.. it said my order was ready at 12:15pm and my husband goes inside to pick it up. No employee in the whole store addressed him. When he finally got someone’s attention to ask about the order, the older lady then printed the ticket to begin the order at 1215 so it was not ready. My husband sat there with my crying toddler until 1240pm while I sat in the car with my newborn baby…. Not once did any of the employees apologize for the delay or seem to be in any sense of urgency to make the orders and mind you all I ordered was the 4 piece tender box. I went into the location at 1244pm after 40 mins and still no food. I had to ask the older lady twice what is going on with my order that was placed forty mins prior. Still she acted clueless and was unapologetic ignoring my request for a manager. She finally slowly making my one box and brings it to me. I then ask for a manager again and a younger white female came to the front. I told her my concerns and she just looked at me. I told her I needed a refund and she walked over to her iPad. Cancelled my order and walked off. No apology. No nothing. I have never in my life had such a terrible experience at a restaurant. All of this going on while the drive thru was getting all of their orders. I will never ever come back to this location. It should honestly be shut down at this point. Terrible employees all around. This place is a little on the expensive side when your ordering for family but we like it a lot. The service is ok they don't really say much just grab your payment and hand you your food no extra comments. We have to wait at least 10 minutes for them to make more food every single time we've ever been. Most of the time the sides are cold and soggy by the time we get the chicken. I think paying $60+ the food should be a little better prepared. The last 3 times rolls were not fresh and were dried out chicken was hard and overcooked and tiny tenders. Corn nuggets are delicious (even when they are cold) and sweet. Fried okra is a huge hit in our house fried pickles are really good too but good luck getting any they fun out quick! Fries are good if your getting a small portion but if you get them as a large side they are definitely going to be soggy. The cheesesticks are really good too. Mashed potatoes are good and their gravy is so good to dip everything in. Last time we went our gravy was literally white water. Zero thickness to it so I would assume it was just someone new that made a mistake on that and the rolls. Hopefully...

Of all the chicken places in and around Tomball by far Chicken Express is my favorite. In general the staff is friendly and the portions are decent size. The service is where able prompt and the food fresh tasting. One of the things that all of the Chicken Express location s I've been to seem to emphasize is "friendly, personal, fast-food", I have had them bring out my drink and get the money to the car if the drive thru line is too long. Yes, more places are offering this but my experience has happened for more than a decade at the one in Magnolia, the owner of that location owns this franchise as well.
