The owner's daughter I'm sorry I have to say but I forgot her name and I should never forget this girl's name she was wonderful she just stayed with me and was speaking to me about my loss of my husband. She was just too sweet girl. The food as matter fact I was amazing it tasted just like Brooklyn New York and Bay Ridge so many Italian restaurants there. I've eaten quite a few people so fast people just always look to meet Lawrence because he was so funny. And I told they're the same thing and she started laughing I showed her my husband's mass cardshe felt so bad for my loss. We were just talkin even when she do live in my food to me in my truck. And that didn't stop our conversation if it wasn't for her mom asking her to come back inside that they really busy that's when we stopped speaking and we said our goodbyes. We could have talked on and on she was amazing and she also love my dogs Piper. Anyway, you definitely without a job have to try this restaurant Brooklyn Bristow is excellent and the service is awesome the food is fantastic. The old-time Italian food restaurant. I can't even compare another restaurant to this in New Jersey. New Jersey and I've tried a couple even when my husband was alive we never liked any food any Italian restaurants until recently when I found this one without my husband unfortunately passed away and I miss him so much he would have loved this place and you would have loved me on his daughter she was amazing. If you ever have dinner plans for the time restaurant you must must go to this restaurant you will not be sorry service and food are awesome. Don't take my word just go there and try their food especially their baked clams off the hook there is no other Italian restaurant in New Jersey that make baked clams like they do New Jersey at other restaurants they were disgusting. Other Italian restaurants in my Jersey area they make baked claims they put disgusting red pepper on top with bacon. I never saw anything like that in my life especially in Brooklyn nothing like that Manhattan nothing like that they clams are supposed to be without red pepper and bacon I don't know who told you that I did a New Jersey but that's not the real Italians he was like I said you really need to take time either for a nice lunch with your friends or the dinner on a date or your husband or fiance or even having a birthday party for family members you won't be...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I called to make reservations for New Years Eve and were told that 8:00pm was “wide open”. On New Year’s Eve we arrived 15 minutes early. We were told by the hostess that we would be seated in 15 minutes. Everything seemed to be great. We were not seated until 9:20, and while we were waiting with roughly 20 other people, we learned that everyone waiting with us were told the exact same thing about 8:00 being “wide open”. They promised us a 5 course dinner. You were supposed to get a salad, an appetizer, a pasta dish, an entree and a dessert. It took 15 minutes to get this tiny bowl of “salad” which consisted of lettuce and one cherry tomato in it. Hardly what I call a salad. We sat there til about 10:45pm and were told by our server that our appetizers were on the way for over an hour. We had a party to go to and had been there for nearly 3 hours without getting any food except that “salad” . We finally asked for the check and told them to pack our stuff “to go”. Another 30 minutes passed and we got a plastic bag containing a big paper bag. I paid the bill which came out to a total of $117 after sales tax. We went to our party late and got there about 15 minutes before the ball dropped. We missed most of the night and didn’t eat. After finally getting home at 1:30am we brought our bag of food into the house. As we unpacked it to put it into our refrigerator we found out that all they gave us was the pasta dish and it was the wrong one. We asked for the Penne pasta and had the linguini with clam sauce in the bag they packed us. They never gave us our fillet mignon or our eggplants entree and they never gave us the dessert we ordered. We paid $117 for a tiny bowl of salad, a bowl of linguini and a 3 hour visit that disappointed us severely. I am never going back to this place and I am disputing the charges...
Read moreWe went to Brooklyn Bistro for the first time on a Saturday night and it was just as good as I hoped it would be. If you grew up in Brooklyn and remember restaurants like Fiorentino's, New Corners or Ortobello's, you'll like Brooklyn Bistro. It's got that old school feel with everything from the thick tablecloths to the pictures on the wall. The menu is solid with options from the classics like chicken parm to daily specials like a butterflied veal chop. The food is served hot and clearly made to order. The staff there is friendly and attentive - my water was always full and they always checked to see if we needed anything.
What we ordered: Burrata and prosciutto - cheese was creamy, prosciutto sliced thin and fresh Italian eggrolls - filled with broccoli rabe and meatballs - fun and delicious Chicken parm - this was just right. The chicken was crispy and the sauce was really good (not sweet or straight from a can). It;s a big dish - you will have leftovers. Cioppino - Reminded me of Christmas Eve. Plenty of seafood and again the sauce was spot on Broccoli Rabe - this could be a hit or miss at restaurants, but this was good! not mushy, not greasy, not too garlicky. White Sangria - nice and light - not too sweet.
No room for dessert, but next time we'll probably start with tiramisu.
Brooklyn Bistro is Brooklyn approved....
