Chubby's Cafe Tooele — Restaurant in Tooele

My recent visit to Chubby's left me with mixed feelings, as the experience fell short in several areas. The food, customer service, and atmosphere. I’d describe the visit as underwhelming, though not entirely without merit. Starting with the food, I ordered the chicken fingers, hoping for a crispy, satisfying dish. Unfortunately, they were a letdown. The chicken was overcooked, resulting in tough skin below the breading. The deep-fried crunch you’d expect, sure that was there, but it was overly greasy. Yes I know they are deep fried, however, this level of grease was just dripping on the surface. I don’t see myself ordering this dish again, as it simply didn’t meet my expectations for a classic comfort food. The customer service was adequate. The staff was polite and handled our orders without issue. The atmosphere, however, was the most disappointing aspect of the visit. The dining area mediocre, I mean I had to clean my own table. The bathrooms were in an even worse state, appearing neglected and unclean. Paper towels scattered all over the floor. These issues made it hard to relax or enjoy the meal, as the environment felt chaotic and poorly maintained. Overall, my experience at Chubby’s was just okay at best. Came with my family from salt lake, we were coming out to tooele to visit some family members. We were having a hard time wandering what we should eat. My youngest daughter brought up that there’s a place called Chubby’s. We decided to go and we were greeted with bright smiles and very kind ladies. I ordered the Utah burger and the kids ordered some chicken strips and beer battered fries. We found a nice booth to sit and eat. Everything was cleaned and people were constantly cleaning and keeping things cleaned. 5-8 minutes later a nice kind girl came up and gave us our food. She asked if that was everything and if there was anything else she could help us with. We said no thank you and that we were pretty sure we had everything. She kindly said that if we needed anything that she would be more than happy to help and to have a nice night. I thought that the service was amazing, she looked about 14 but acted mature and very very kind. Food was AMAZING, I loved how the burger was assembled and how everything looked and it was very good quality as well. I will definitely come again. My wife has been there twice while I have only been there once (today, with her). The atmosphere is really nice with a variety of people eating and chatting. I ate the mushroom Swiss with bacon, which is a pretty good choice and a side of beer battered fries. My wife had the BLT with macaroni and cheese. While my burger was really pretty good, the fries were not as hot as they should have been. My wife's BLT was good, with the exception of the bacon which she said tasted like it had been cooked much earlier. She was definitely not a fan of the mac and cheese, which she said tasted like a certain name brand product, made in the microwave. The biggest down side to me, however, was how the establishment handles order-taking. You walk in the door, and wait your turn to order from one of two employees at registers. Our turn came about 25 minutes after we walked in- an issue for me after my 60 hour work week. You have to pass through other prospective customers to either depart or to get drinks.
