We keep trying to give Dennys our business / money / time and just can’t do it anymore. Alex is doing her best turning the restaurant around however after today we won’t be back again… I don’t know if it can be done without Alex being there 24/7 which is just not feasible.
We went in around 9:30am. We were sat right away and 10 mins later another table sat. We still weren’t greeted but the table after us was. 10 mins later still not greeted that tables then had drinks and their food order placed as well as 2-3 other tables sat after us
I finally got up and asked the host if we could be helped. It was still another 5-10 mins before someone came.
We placed our food and drink order at the same time.
10 more mins for drinks to come. ( so now we’re at 30 mins )
This place got insanely busy. The host kept seating despite servers not being able to get to the tables / drinks out / food ran. Literally food was sitting and sitting. Food was in the window for 20 mins at a time before being taken out.
Fast forward about 1 hour after we had been there the table next to us got their food as well as 3 other tables sat well after us. ( 1.5 hours into it )
We kept waiting, and waiting. It was about an hour and 40 mins in I finally got up and asked if “that was our food sitting in the window” I knew it was cuz we got a skillet etc. we saw the other servers moving our food out of the way to get their own!! Our server said “I don’t think so” then proceeded to take someone else’s food who sat an hour+ after us out.
She then started gathering up our food that was sitting there for at least 20-30 mins. She brought a few items out ( that were also wrong ) and it was ice cold. I stood up, told them not to bring the rest as it would all be cold and that we’d like to pay for our drinks and leave. A girl with colored hair said not to worry about it and we could just go.
I believe Alex is out of town, however there should have been a fill in manager or shift lead and it appeared there wasn’t. That place has at least 5 tables walk out one being us, and our friends who happened to come who sat for 20 mins without being greeted. And others, and that is just what I noticed on one side of the restaurant. We went to McDonald’s instead , our friends went to a burger joint.
I have already complained to Alex once a few weeks ago about a very similar experience and she was great, even gave us a gift card to come back, when we did she ensured we had an awesome time.

When we got there we were seated quickly but it took 10 - 15 minutes for drinks to get to us afyer ordered. there were maybe 3-5 tables total. not busy at all. During this time we could hear the cooks and waiting staff were arguing over music and time it took to get food. After we gave our order the waiter never came back to our table. A new waiter brought the food that had been sitting in the window for 5-10 min. we waited 45 -50 minutes for food. Mind you we ordered an avocado burger, 2 kids pancakes and a prime rib cob salad. When the food came we got everything but the avocado for the burger and the cob salad. We were told it would be out any min. 15-20 minutes later still no waiter or the rest of our food. no one noticed or cane to check on us until we were up at the counter trying to get our ticket to leave. Once at the counter finally saw our waiter and another told us they were making the salad now. I told them it was to late as we needed to go and would like it taken from my order. They apologized as they were waiting on the cooking staff to stop messing around to get the meat prepared. I told them it was fine however I needed to leave. It still took and 10 min of them arguing over who was on the til and who could come get us our ticket to leave. When they finally decided this they ended up having 3 people at the front causing a scene. The one that finally took the till the one that brought our food and our actual waiter. When we explained we had no avocado for the avocado burger and never got our rib cob salad they all began arguing how they were going to handle the situation, one says they are taking the cob salad off, give a dollar off for the missing avacado but absolutely nothing else. One said they were contacting the manager to give us a gift card and report the situation another said they were going to give a 20% discount for everything. They sat arguing infront of us for 5 min until finally telling us our final bill. they gave $1.00 for missing avocado and removed the cob salad. some how the burger drinks and two kids meals was still a $40 bill. We never saw our receipt and never got a receipt after we paid. They took down my phone number and name to give to a manager but still haven't heard anything. Really I just want this manager to know how their waiting staff and cooking staff are acting when they aren't around. I ordered online and indicated that I wanted curbside to go to avoid going in-store with this whole pandemic and having a newborn at home. They asked for a description of my vehicle and instructed me to call on arrival. I called as they asked me to and they said they would be right out with my food (side note: I ordered my food at 7:30pm and it said estimated pick up was 15 minutes later). I was still waiting in the parking lot at 8:45pm.
I called them again and they, once again, said they'd be right out with my food. I waited 5 minutes, then went inside and met the employee at the door. Before leaving, I inspected the food and found the burgers and breakfast plate cold, the two shakes completely melted, and the two cokes were flat. And for the icing on the cake, the burgers were so soggy it was like eating a soup.
The employee told me that they got too busy to bring the food out - why didn't they call me to ask me to come grab it? And only 4 booths had customers inside, and three other curbside to go customers had come to the door for their food like me (one of which had cold, soggy food like I did and asked them to remake his food). As I was inspecting the food, the employee spoke to the manager in front of me to inform her of the situation. The manager rolled her eyes and spoke disrespectfully under her breath. They were very lucky my family was hungry enough to not want to wait for them to remake the food.
