My name is Brennan Cupp. I go by the moniker Richard when I order food at establishments that require a name. The reason for this is to avoid any sort of confusion or embarrassment, as my actual name is often grossly mispronounced. My wife and I ordered two pizzas for carry out today. One with mushrooms and black olives, and the other with chicken and bacon. When we got home, the order was wrong. I went back, alone, and the order was replaced. This, however, is not the issue. After I got home, I had to take some time to cool down and collect my thoughts. I was quite livid after what happened tonight.
I want to say that there were at least five or six people on staff tonight. When you pack that many people into a small space, and they're all trying to talk over one another, well, it's a small building. It's not difficult to hear every word. And what I heard tonight is easily one of the most disgusting things I've heard in a long time. I'm not sure if it was a manager or one of the regular employees (most likely a manager, since no one else said anything or did anything to retaliate), but the person in question was male. Someone had made a passing joke about his son, to which he replied: "My son better not be gay, I'll beat the piss out of him."
This statement was shared loudly and proudly around 5:55pm. I know this because I had sent a text to my wife expressing my utter disgust. At the time, I was the only one in the lobby, but given the time in which it happened, and seeing as there are other witnesses on staff, it shouldn't be too hard for Domino's to do a quick investigation to figure out who said it. I had strongly considered confronting the individual right then and there, but if it was a manager, then I know exactly how that would have ended. I've worked fast food, I've been in those situations. When a manager like this is confronted, they typically take out their pent up aggression on the staff. They deserve better than to suffer working with filth like that. Given this man's apparently violent nature, I would also like to share a genuine concern for this man's child, and would strongly recommend contacting child protective services. If this man is so ready and willing to "beat the piss" out of his son, then I suspect even the most minor of transgressions would incite a violent reaction. And to be clear, just so we're on the same page, sexual orientation is NOT a transgression, it is not something to be punished or dictated.
What if there are members of the staff who are gay? What if I was gay and heard that while waiting for my pizza? What if that man's son heard him? I would like to think that Domino's would take a strong stance against hate speech from members of its staff. But if this man is able to say these things without a second thought, and if no one on staff was in a position to confront him about his homophobia, then I think that demonstrates the type of environment that Domino's is comfortable with. All I wanted was some pizza, and I had to hear that. I probably wouldn't have heard a thing if my order was right the first time, and then this wall of text wouldn't exist. But here we are. Find some way to address this. You...
Read moreOrdered online at 8:30pm said it would be ready in 20min. Got a text at 8:40 saying it was in the oven, be ready in 8-10min. Arrived at 8:55 and they said "sorry it was never put in the oven and your sandwich looks old so don't worry about paying we'll make it fresh for you right now and bring it to your car".... okay....9:30pm rolls around and we're still sitting in the parking lot waiting for our 20min order that notified us it was ready but wasn't actually made. After 3 different delivery drivers had returned, loaded up with more deliveries then left, we finally decided they never "remade" our order and just went home. Woke up this morning to a text they cancelled the order at 10:18pm. Time before this, they argued with me for 10min that our order was never sent there. After I showed them the confirmation email was for this location it magically appeared as a line worker yells "Uh make sure she pays for it". Literally I'm holding my debit card in hand while they searched for my order. When have you ever just handed out free pizza. Obviously people have to pay before receiving their items that's usually how businesses work. This is why I quit paying online at domino's because they continously mess up our order. Definitely don't do delivery, we eneded up with someone else's order entirely and the store was "closed" when we tried calling to get it corrected. Never had one problem with the Lawrence, KS store and ordered from there for years before moving to Topeka. Do yourself a favor and just don't order from here. Pizza Hut service a few blocks down never fails. This domino's store is very disorganized. Not going to hurt this company without my business but I will not waste my time and money here again. Thanks for viewing, have a...
Read moreWe normally don't give reviews, but at this particular store we have had several bad experiences. Tonight specifically, we ordered online around 11:30pm. A minute after it went through we got a phone call from the store stating that they don't deliver to our area (less than a 2 minutes drive away from there location) after dark. I would normally be understanding, except they have always delivered here after 11pm and never once told us otherwise. We asked if we could pick it up and they said no. We also asked if they would deliver to a different location for us and they once again said no. We even spoke to the manager and she said this policy has been in place for 2 years and again told us we could not change our delivery to a new location, or let us pick it up. I find this policy hard to believe, as we have never ordered earlier then 11pm from this location. Because of this we will be out of the money we spent for 2-3 days until it is refunded back to our account, leaving us unable to get dinner tonight. Several other times they have gotten our orders wrong. Once they took 3 plus hours for us to get our food to us because their driver couldn't find our location and they didn't bother to call. We had to call twice before we finally got our order, they also had gotten our food wrong and it was cold. I hate leaving negative feedback because I've worked in fast food and restaurants before, but our experiences here have just...
