Spangles — Restaurant in Topeka

I love Spangles, especially their ice cream and chocolate that hardens like Magic Shell; however, I have a real problem with employees making AND handing ice cream cones to customers without gloves (typically a napkin that isn't covering the cone very well as they touch it almost every time, and it drips all over before I can ask for any more napkins, leaving it all over me and the car... and nothing said from employees, except them urging you to take whatever else you ordered (all while needing to drive).

Typically superior customer service at almost all Spangles I've been to, especially in Topeka on 21st and Gage!! Always considerate, professional, food comes fresh and quick! They also utilize numbers for points, where as I rarely get asked up North, and never off Wanamaker, but Gage does most of the time (I don't go too often).

I LOVE THE ICE...lol, just like Sonic, and minimum fee for ice water as well!! Large portions, so don't go if you are...

So I used to live in Topeka and Lawrence about 7 years ago. I vividly remember going to Spangles for their fries and their steakburgers. They were always a full step ahead of the other fast food chains as far as quality and taste. However, we came back for a holiday visit, and I made a point to go back to Spangles for these items. I have to say, the fries were 5* all the way. However, the quality of the burgers dropped off substantially. It could have been the particular location, or even the particular burger, but the flavor just wasn't there. The burger was far greasier than I remember, and it tasted like the beef from any other fast food chain. Unfortunately it seems the quality of the food, and the flavor in particular, just isn't what it used to be.

I sincerely hope it was this particular instance that was less than tasty, but I felt the need to share...

Would give it a 0 star if i could. First i ordered my meal for pick up and went through the drive thru at 5:30. I was parked by the spaniels sign because my food wasn’t done. No big deal, but then they had me sit out there til 6:20 and when called was told to be patient by Jacob. Soon it was 6:30 and i went inside to talk to the manger. Was then shown the wrong receipt was told I didn’t have a meal. Showed the dude my receipt nd was given a bag. The bag only had fries in it. When got into my Car i found that out and walked back inside. I talked Braihra ( worker from north Topeka) and was given a samwhich and was told it was right. I get home you’ll never guess it. It was a completely wrong sandwich. Went back to spangles to get a refund which wasn’t given and was finally given the wrong sandwich at 6:48.
