Where I can see what they were aiming for here, I feel that it falls short of the mark. It's not lively enough to feel like a bar, but it's not chill enough to be comfortable either. They have a decent selection of games you can amuse yourself with, but still none of them sounded all that entertaining considering the surroundings. The biggest win is the decor. They have several pieces of art, as well as posters, that definitely pull at my nostalgia and love of gaming. I think this place could be massively improved upon, and be a lot more fun. As it stands right now, it reminds me of my school days when we'd go hang out with whoever had the coolest basement with the most games.
Now onto the service... I'm really quite displeased. I was greeted and treated friendly. I hadn't intended to drink, and approached the bar, where I got the "intro" to the place, as it was my first time. I was told about the d20 shots and had a pair of dice thrust into my hand. With no mention of cost I was told to roll to see what shots I'd get. I thought to myself "This is a pretty cool way to greet new customers" so I played along and ended up with my 2 drinks, neither of which I enjoyed. Then, to be a good patron, I ordered a mixed drink, purely because I believed the business had just given me 2 free drinks, and I wanted to support them. But, as I go to pay for my mixer, he says "Just the mixed drink and the 2 shots" So, begrudgingly I pay $25+5 tip for 3 drinks that I didn't...
Read moreWe loved all of the board game options and were exciting to be able to play them without purchasing them on our own. Their selection had a lot of variety (table top, board game, card, differing lengths). We visited on a Thursday which could have lead to the concerns that we had. We tried to order a few things but they didn’t have the products for any ice cream or other mixed drinks. We ended up getting something anyway. I loved my drink but was a tad over priced as I got a nonalcoholic option and it still cost $10. My husband got a mixed drink with apple, pineapple juice, and orange juice. However, they didn’t have the pineapple juice and it ended up tasting like orange juice with alcohol in it which also was $10. We were surprised by the price but wanted to keep an open mind as we both love board games and wanted to make this part of our regular places. The place was empty but we were surprised by some pretty vulgar music with the speaker being placed right behind our table. If there had been some other people in there, I don’t think either of us would have minded, just seemed inconsiderate. Now, my husband and I loved the game we picked and will probably be buying it in the future. If we come back, we will probably only pay the game rental fee of $5 (this is waved if you...
Read moreInteresting concept and affordable. Drink menu is fairly priced, very tasty, and quite creative! The tall cinnamon drink was very, very good!
I was here for two hours and bought several drinks. I enjoyed playing the N64 and playing Guitar Hero on the X360. Very fun and nostalgic!
However, there are a few things that need addressed: (1) Please replace or repair the guitar for Guitar Hero. I would come here much more frequently if I could just play this and have some drinks. (2) The bathroom needs some work. The faucet was leaking. Bathroom needs some remodeling... (3) The Mario drink had way too much cherry in it. It was almost undrinkable. I'm assuming the measurements that night were off. (4) Can you please have a readable list of the video game options on hand? I would much prefer to just read off a list instead of the staff having to list the...
