this is our first time trying this place and it was good! we got a half cheese/half pepperoni pizza and 10 bbq wings and they could have served it with ranch dressing instead of blue cheese because i know some people would rather have ranch but it was still good. the place is kind of cramped because the left side is the bar and the right side is the dining room and walking in was confusing at first. they do cash only there which we didn’t know but they should tell you on the phone beforehand instead of telling you when you about to pay. but they do have an atm in the back of the place so i thought that was clever. the 2 older ladies that were working kind of just stood around walking and talking to each other before one of them noticed us and kind of had an attitude. the wings were kind of over cooked but still kind of good and the pizza was too, it didn’t have much pepperoni and the cheese was over cooked a little bit. i feel like it could be a hit or miss here.

Walking in i had a flashback to years past. Small and very busy long standing restaurant pub. The homemade chili was made with love, beef galore, menu said pork also, onions, sweet tomato chunks, light on the kidney beans and peppers, a masterpiece. Also had the Buffalo wings which were very good. We got a small pizza, 1/2 sausage, half meatball and onions. The pizza was a cross between the best Greek Pizza and Italian thin crust baked in a a light oil, the pizza was outstanding. The cheese on the pizza was unique and enough on it to more than satisfy. One waitress to 12 tables, she was a superstar. If you're ever in the Harwinton side of Torrington, Go to the Berkshire Cafe, you will not be disappointed.

The Berkshire Cafe is a staple in Torrington that everyone should try their tasty unique pizzas are delicious. Their salad and salad dressing are to die for cheap drinks beers and food and prompt service make this place one of our go-tos. I do believe it's cash only so plan accordingly but we definitely enjoy the homemade sausage on their pizza , oven baked wings, and salad!

My favorite pizza in the Torrington, Winsted, Litchfield area! It's consistently delicious. We love the sausage and roasted pepper toppings. The crust is not thin, and it's not deep dish. It's medium thickness, just right. Generous amount of sauce, cheese and toppings. This is classic old fashioned pizza. We've never been disappointed.

Lots of atmosphere, this is a charming old western-style place, divided in the middle with a high railing. There is a bar on one side, and tables and booths on the other. Dark wood paneling and tall booths, a vintage tin ceiling, and old photos of Torrington make Berkshire a comfortable casual place to bring friends. Each booth has a sconce on the wall for soft lighting. Friendly service.

Berkshire doesn't accept credit cards. But if you are short of cash, they...

The Berkshire has very good "Greek Style" (cooked in a pan and a medium thickness) Pizza. The crust is crisped on the outside and tastes great. They use a healthy amount of quality Mozzarella cheese which compliments the thickness of the style. The sauce used to have a certain zest to it which it unfortunately no longer has but is still decently tasty. The variety of toppings offered is slightly limited but they are good quality. The restaurant offers a cozy tavern feel with bench-booths, tables, and a lengthy full bar which is often occupied by the many local neighborhood residents which frequent the establishment. The staff is friendly and experienced. Overall great place to dine in or order out for pizza. Would have given 5 stars if the Pizza still had...
