My family and I visited Applebees during Family Weekend at St. Bonaventure Univeristy. Our experience was absolutely horrible. It started with walking in the door and not being greeted by a host/hostess. An employee finally came to the front about 3 minutes later and asked how many were in our party and we had 8 people in our party. The employee tried sitting all of us into a booth. Before I could turn around and ask for alternative seating, the employee was gone. I walked back to the front of the restaurant and found the employee and simply asked if she really thought we could all fit into 1 booth that was made to seat 6. Instead of assisting she just said, well you can sit in the other booth also next to it. Instead of being seated at the group seating this was what we were given. Then after that, it took approximately 10 minutes for the server to come to our table and ask us for our drink order. It then took her another 15 minutes to serve us our drinks and got some of our drinks messed up. She then came back about 25-30 minutes after we sat down to finally take our food order. It took about 35 minutes longer for our food to come out. Meanwhile there was only 10 other tables in the entire restaurant that were occupied. Our food order was given wrong and we ended up sending some items back and some family members not eating because of the mistake. We expressed our dissatisfaction to both the server and the manager and they seemed stumped as to what to do because they both kept asking us what they could do to make it better. Why would u ask a customer this? Maybe as a manager you should be making the customer happy. Asking me what I want to done just made me more angry. Along with the servers response of not being able to handle the amount of tables she was given. We were so upset upon leaving the restaurant we left our receipt at the table as we paid with cash. As the day ended and the next day began we became more upset because we had spent over $100 at this restaurant and not even the manager did anything to help make the situation better. We went back the following day to speak to another manager but this manager stated that since we didnt have our receipt there was nothing that they could do. There was another employee at the restaurant that was there the prior night and did acknowledge that we were a large party that had dined the night before. The manager then stated that they would try to make our experience better by sending us some Applebess Gift cards to be used at any Appleberes location. Well that was over 3 weeks ago and still have not received anything in the mail, not even an apology note. I will never go back to this particular Applebees and will not recommend this site to any other Bonaventure parents/family. Shame on you Olean...
Read moreWe have been to many Applebees, all over the East, over the years, and this one is by far the worst... we normally go for dinner 2 to 3 times a month at different Applebees throught the state while visiting family... we have tried to this one many MANY times, as my daughter lives in the area, hopefully that it was just a one off, a bad day or maybe even a new cook... the only thing that is consistent about the Kitchen is that the food that comes out of it is terrible, over cooked meat and the shrimp and parm topper is sour, clumped and cold (the parmesan cream sause portioned it)... when comments are made you are told that this is the way it is, and that it cant be too hot.. Seriously? Its freaking cold enough to have just come directly from the fridge! The only part that is warm at all is the tiny bit that the manage to put on the steak with the shrimp. And that is tepid at best! I can understand not wanting to burn a customer, but could you at least melt it? They do at every other Applebees... this time was exceptionally gross... this time I was served burnt chunks if someone elses hamburger along charred onions... no one at our table ordered a hamburger... Not sure where those came from... and that was just mine... there were 6 of us, and almost a $200 bill.. Very Very disappointed... wont be desperate enough to go to this restaurant again... and that is sad, because Applebees is one of our favorite places to get together with family or to have a nice lunch or dinner...
Read moreWe went for dinner last night. We placed our order including salad, appetizer, and steaks. We received our drinks in a timely manner. Fast forward 25 minutes and our steaks come out. No salad, no appetizer, I questioned if we were supposed to eat cold food because we prefer to eat our salad and appetizer before the main course. The manager came over and said that she would provide our service from there out. She got our salad and an appetizer platter. A few minutes later she comes back to tell us that she gave us someone else's appetizer platter and she will get ours. She then brings ours out a few minutes later minus the Bleu cheese that was ordered so again we wait while she goes to get it. She assured us that our steaks were being remade. Our steaks finally arrive. They are room temperature at best. The mashed potatoes were so cold they didn't even melt the butter that my husband asked for. It was freezing inside and we and other customers had to ask for heat to be turned on.The bill arrived and of course I again told the manager that this Applebee's is awful and needs some management changes in order to get things right. If we are going to pay full price the least your restaurant could do is get the order correct! I would not recommend this...
