I really donât know how to even describe the experience I had here the other day. Quite honestly, I would give 0 stars if I could. My family and I were seated outside which was a nice spot, but thatâs as far as all the âniceâ went.
We started by asking for drinks, 2 beers and 2 waters. The waiter brought the wrong beer for my grandmother then took another 20 minutes to bring out the other 2 glasses of water. When we finally got our order in, I kid you not we ended up waiting OVER AN HOUR..and for what? Chicken fingers and a sandwich??? Absolutely ridiculous. By the time the meal had come out, my appetite had completely dissolved, not that I was really impressed by what was presented in front of me anyway. And then, asking for a box proved to be yet another mountain that the staff could not climb. I had to go into the place after 20 minutes of waiting to ask for one at the bar. You can imagine how getting the...
Read moreRookies is the new go-to in East Aurora for great food and drink! The daily food specials are inexpensive and delicious! We get out for at least two specials every week: $0.50 wings, $5, appetizers, $5 subs, $6 burgers... Itâs one of the last hometown pubs where you can have great food and drinks in a comfortable casual setting without spending a fortune.
Let the out-of-towners have the Bar Bill and 189. The Bar Bill is not what it was under Joe and Marcy! The Globe is not what it was under Rocko! Wallyâs sure could use some bar stools, and who wants to fight the crowds for space? Rileys is way too over priced for both drink and so-so food! Griffinâs is pricey and has expensive weird âgastropubâ fare! 42 North is our local microbrewery and has great but pricey IPAâs, but donât look for inexpensive domestics! ...and who can afford Ricks?
Bottom line, Rookies is the best kept secret for Best...
Read moreWe used to love Rookies but lately the service has been getting slower and slower, until today. We arrived at 9:23 and were seated in a minute or two. After that, we waited around 20 minutes without even a drink order being taken. Around 9:45 we sat at the bar trying to get the bartender/waiter' attention, in which we were ignored and the people ordering alcohol got taken care of first. After sitting at the bar for roughly ten minutes we decided to leave and count our losses on a place we drive half an hour get food from. Now I get wE aRe sHoRt sTaFfEd dUe to CoViD but to not even have anyone ask us what we want to drink in just over half an hour is just outright ridiculous. We'll give rookies another try but if this happens again we won't be going...
