I love shopping at BJ’s Wholesale Club because they have everything I need for my home and family. Whether it’s groceries, household supplies, electronics, furniture, or clothing, BJ’s has it all at great prices. Plus, they have their own private label brands, like Wellsley Farms and Berkley-Jensen, that offer high-quality products at even better values. Some of my favorite products from BJ’s are: Wellsley Farms fresh produce, dairy, snacks, and desserts. They always have a variety of fruits, vegetables, cheeses, yogurts, nuts, chips, cookies, cakes, and pies that are delicious and fresh. I especially like their hand-painted hydrangeas and their chocolate chip cookies. Berkley-Jensen paper products, batteries, and general merchandise. They have durable and soft paper towels, toilet paper, napkins, and plates that are perfect for everyday use and parties. They also have reliable batteries for all my devices and gadgets. And they have a lot of other useful items like luggage, bedding, fans, and air conditioners. BJ’s bakery and deli. They have a wide selection of breads, muffins, bagels, pastries, cakes, cupcakes, and pies that are freshly baked and taste amazing. They also have pre-made deli platters and cakes that are convenient and easy to order for any occasion. BJ’s Wholesale Club is more than just a store. It’s a membership club that offers exclusive benefits and services to its members. Some of the perks that I enjoy are: Free in-club pickup and same-day delivery. I can shop online or on the app and choose to pick up my order in the club or have it delivered to my door in as little as two hours. Read moreOn Saturday, March 2, at around 11 a.m., my wife and I stopped at BJs to shop for the week. I usually prefer instant checkout, but today, mainly because I was pressed for time. After scanning 20 items and paying, I received a digital receipt. My wife is a secondary account member, so I checked the remaining items using her login. At that point, I was able to pay, but I was unable to retrieve a receipt for the second transaction. We headed to customer service and explained the situation. Tina came to assist a cashier who could not identify the problem. She decided the issue was the result of us not simply not paying. Then she stated that the charges listed as pending in my account were soft and would eventually fall off. That would make sense, except I had a receipt for the first transaction, also listed as pending. Tina would not allow us to explain or even state our concerns. She knew we were just being dishonest. After a few minutes of her suggesting I was trying to get away with not paying, I placed an open hand toward the counter, which landed on her hand, and asked her to please hear me out. She said Ouch as if she had been assaulted, and at that point, I walked away. Tara, a front-end cashier, assisted us as best she could. However, my account was ultimately charged 3x, which is an inconvenience but no one's fault. My issue here is that it is impossible to determine someone’s integrity based on their complexion. Moments after I touched Tina’s hand, I witnessed a customer holding her forearm. Tara gently touched my forearm to reassure me she would figure it out. My concern is for people who shop at BJ's using the last of their money, as I often have and do not have the funds to repurchase an order due to a system malfunction, and how they will be treated, especially if they are a person of color. I could not imagine going home to my children with no groceries and being accused of dishonesty, and I will not be shopping at BJS, especially the Deer...
Read moreI was a member of BJ’s for a few years and from time to time returned my bottles there. Whenever I went to the customer service counter, the person never asked me for my BJ’s card. Now that I’m not a member, I went into the lobby, waited 15 minutes for the woman in front of me to finish, and then returned my bottles. Then I go to the customer service counter to get my $4.85 and the woman asked me for my BJ’s card and I didn’t have one. After going back-and-forth with her she said there’s nothing she can do for me and so I left. I sat in my car for a minute and said no, this is ridiculous. It’s a New York State law. So I go back in and ask for the manager and then she comes out and tells me that I have to have a card so I said to her there are no signs anywhere saying that you have to have a card to return your bottles. It’s a New York State law... I returned my bottles to your redemption center now you owe me five cents for each one of those bottles. I asked if she was the manager of the whole store she said no and I told her to bring out the manager of the store and then he came out and more words were exchanged and they did end up giving me back my $4.85. It’s not about how much money it was. I don’t care if it was a dollar it’s about the principle. PUT UP SOME SIGNS!!!! Then the assistant manager tells me that they’ll do it for me this time but they’re not gonna do it again. Why the heck would I come back and do it again? So now you’re calling me stupid? If I encounter anyone and they’re thinking about deciding between BJ’s and Costco, I’m telling them to get a Costco membership because that’s...
