We came in on Tuesday night, to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary, which was also Halloween. It was actually pretty dead, one weird thing was they had texted me 20 minutes before my reservation time telling me my table was ready, however when we arrived we had to wait to be seated. It wasnāt a super long wait, like 5-8 minutes however why text me and tell me my table is ready if itās not, especially when thereās hardly anyone in the restaurant.
Our server was Mauricio. He wasnāt personable, never asked us if we were celebrating anything. Our first round of drinks, he brought within 5 minutes, however he spilled quite a bit of my drink all over the table and on me. He gave me napkins but never removed the wet napkins from our table. Then he disappeared for a while, and two females took over, and they were wonderful. They brought our cheese course, explained things nicely, offered to bring us more dippers, really excellent. Then our server reappeared, he loudly told the table next to us about his meeting with his boss, and how his boss had given him a pen but he was like āwhereās my raise?ā It didnāt feel like an appropriate thing to say in front of tables. So we order another round of drinks. 20 minutes later our drinks havenāt arrived, but our entrees came out. I had ordered the land and sea entree, he brought me the classic. So now I have the wrong entree and no drinks. After thinking someone would come to check to see how our entrees were, after 10 minutes, my husband got up to search for someone. There was no one at the hostess stand, no one at the bar, finally we found one of the nice women from earlier who came over, retook our drink order, and got me the correct entree and made sure we were ok. She took the drinks off our bill. Our server didnāt come check on us for another 55 minutes. He never checked to see how our food was. Then it was time for dessert. He brought us out a plate that said happy anniversary and told us he was sure weād want to take pretty pictures. Iām assuming he meant with the plate? Not sure. He never refilled our waters or asked if we wanted another drink.
Finally it was time for the bill, which was the only thing he brought out quickly, while we were still enjoying the chocolate fondue actually. He never brought out a check presenter, just a folded piece of paper, and he stood there and made us pay on his little tablet, while he stood there watching. It was extremely uncomfortable. This was probably the worst part of the evening.
Food was really good, the experience could have been great, but unfortunately had I known what we would have received, I wouldnāt have picked here as a place to celebrate a major event. Maybe a nice dinner out, but I really wanted this night to be special, and our server really did not make our night special or even good. Itās an expensive place, and I expected...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWent here for my son's 18th birthday and wow! This was a very unique and delicious experience and our party of 8 were all first timers. It's a little pricey but in my opinion, well worth it!
There were 3 glass top burners in the middle of the table...you start with 3 different cheeses š§ of your choice (we did Wisconsin Cheddar, Bacon Gorgonzola and Spinach Artichoke. As it heats up, there are platters set down all around, with all different breads, apples and veggies for dipping.
Next they swapped out the cheese for cast iron skillets and a French wine based vegetable broth in a pot to cook our entrees (different meats, seafood, vegan and create your own options) with various dipping sauces. We all had different ones...chicken, pork, filet mignon, sirloin, vegetables and shrimp. Soooo good! š„¦š„šš„©ššš¦
Lastly and the BEST part was dessert. 3 different chocolates - we did the original, which is peanut butter and chocolate, white chocolate and s'mores, which was a graham cracker, milk chocolate and marshmallow combo lit on fire for that campfirey šš„š« goodness! More boards brought out - this time it was rice krispie treats, waffles, marshmallows, blondies, brownies, pound cake, fresh fruit...it was outrageous. The bananas dipped in The Original chocolate fondue was my favorite!
You can go there for the full experience or just dessert or just fondue. My son only turns 18 once and it was his choice. So glad he picked this hidden gem.
Our server Stan was patient and explained everything to us as we were clueless. He brought out a little birthday plate for my son and I didn't even ask!
You can make reservations through opentable or call directly. Either way, you need go there for an overall excellent dining experience!
Round 2 Went back 10/8/21, this time for my daughter's birthday and once again, it was unbelievably good. A special shout out to our server Amanda S who was FABULOUS! Honestly, this may become tradition for our family birthdays! Please go if you haven't been there yet - best experience...
