Count your change!
I have been a customer of this diner for over 11 years. We like the service staff here. The quality has been consistent for over a decade. It is very mediocre food and has a basic diner menu.
Like all other restaurants, the prices have increased with inflation, and in today's world, the standard is that these businesses charge the customer for credit card use. This restaurant happens to do a "Non-cash service charge" of 3% of your total bill.
Since I typically pay this restaurant's bill in cash, I expect to receive the "discount" appropriately.
However, I have paid the bill multiple times (over 7) with 4 different Bedford Diner employees handling the register transactions. Each time that I have paid cash, they have failed to give me correct change. For example, if the bill is $19.97, they do not give you the $0.03 that is owed to the customer. They do not give back the pennies. I believe that this is intentional, and I believe that it is an order directed from the manager/owner. The last four times that I have come to this diner, the staff failed to give back the appropriate amount of change.
If they are going to offer a "discount", then give the money back that is owed to the customer.
I absolutely find it pathetic and deplorable that a customer has to complain online about pocket change, all because a business has a lack of ethics and morals.
I even supported this business during the pandemic, and this is the appreciation that they deliver. I am strongly considering never returning, and giving other diners business (regardless if they are more expensive or farther in distance) simply based on principles.
Just be sure to look closely at your bill, do the math, and count your change!

Read moreI usually have to travel for work and I was in the mood for some homefries and was hoping I come across a diner. I worked at a diner for 7 years as a waitress so I’m aware of how it should work. This place is great, the food has so much flavor. I didn’t get to take a picture because I didn’t know I was writing a review. When I tell you the bussers and waiters are attentive they are absolutely attentive. Anything I need I was able to get without a wait. I dined alone. The coffee was burnt at first but the waiter corrected it for me and I was able to have a good cup of coffee. It was packed for a Sunday afternoon but I would definitely take the drive back up for the food. Great service, great food, great atmosphere to decompose for a little by yourself. I got a chorizo breakfast burrito with homefries. The homefries were amazing, I added peppers because it only came with onions. My craving is fulfilled. Stop in you won’t regret it. Will was a fantastic server. I recommend you stop in and ask for will. Don’t forget to tip your waiters. Thanks Bedford diner for the hospitality!...
Read moreQuite often it is a good gesture to patronize local mom-and-pop shops and for years my family and I have been patronizing Bedford Diner for a weekend brunch , however that will no longer be the case. First of all the wait staff is rude. The food is mediocre and small portions , in fact a member of my group got food poisoning once and when it was brought to their attention, they really didn’t care , but yet we gave them another chance however, the most significant thing is, they are racist….it is unacceptable in this day and age with the world in such an uproar Bedford Diner does not treat customers fairly and it has nothing to do with sensitivity; but when you blatantly make people of color wait to be seated and take care of whites immediately and interact with them differently and treat people of color as if we’re outcast , that’s just not the professional or acceptable. So thanks but , no thanks Bedford Diner….you will no longer get...
