Old-fashioned family-run business who knows the business. I had a very heavy pewter chandelier that needed to be rewired after having attempted to do it myself with half a day of significant frustration.

The woman I spoke with on the phone kept the shop open for me as I was going to arrive 15 minutes after they closed, to drop it off on my way to Manhattan. This was the first good sign toward a positive outcome.

Shop owner and electrician Drew called me a couple days later to give me a repair estimate. It was of course costly, due to the huge amount of labor that I experienced personally - out of my ability to perform. I authorized the work, which he successfully completed, including a ground wire which had not been installed originally and a written caution not to exceed 40 watt bulbs.

I did my own grand-finale smoke test, all bulbs lit, no smoke and I re-installed the chandelier without incident. In short, Drew saved me and my marriage.

You’ll see a couple of one-star reviews that have to do with shop access or response. So I suggest, if you go there and don’t see anyone to greet you right away as I did, go to the back to announce yourself. Again, they don’t just sell lamps; they are very busy...

Exceptional! We first went to Bedford Lighting after our friends had highly recommended them for guidance on some key lighting pieces for our home. Chris and Drew did not disappoint! From the minute we met with them, they asked a myriad of questions about the dimensions, functions of the room and preferences that allowed us to think through what we really wanted. Within one visit we had chandeliers, sconces and other lighting chosen that were very specific to our taste. These days inventory selection and relationships with vendors are everything. Chris and Drew were able to provide both, with very detailed information from the vendors they work with to ensure that we received the chandeliers within specific projected windows of time. Additionally, they came to our home multiple times to make sure that the pieces were installed perfectly. We were floored with their attention to detail and incredible customer service. We are so happy with the lighting we purchased from Bedford Lighting and can't wait to work on additional projects...

Went to this place on the great reviews and unfortunately that wasn’t my experience. When I went i entered there wasn’t a single person around which is fine as I checked out the lamp shades. Finally someone entered after 10 min being in the shop alone. I asked for some help and what I got was someone who didn’t want to work or help me w my questions and basically letting me know I needed to know exactly what I wanted because there policy is NO returns, NO exchanges and NO store credit under any circumstances even if the item was untouched. Also was told I would have to wait a few weeks even if I did know what I wanted. Well I ordered a beautiful shade from PB and will here in 3 days with the option to return. When I did confront how abrupt and rude the sales man was, I was then told his store was in business for 25 years but let’s see if this small mom and pop shop, with there no return policies and bad costumer service, are around for another 25 yrs especially with the option of...
