I’ve come here and to the port jeff location hundreds of times by now. A few months ago my family (5 ppl) ordered takeout from the Selden location which isn’t our usual location, but they were closed for renovations or whatnot. We pick up our food and we don’t realize until we get home that the order is completely messed up and we’re missing a whole sandwich. So we drive 10 minutes back to the restaurant and the manager (tall white man) apologizes and says he’ll remake it for us. We get our food after waiting for about 10 minutes, and he also gives us 2 gift cards as a way of apologizing for the mix up and the wait for the remake. Now, just a month or two later I go to use the gift cards and it says they only have one penny ( $0.01) on them. The original meal we paid for was over 50 dollars. I don’t know if they gave us the gift cards as a way to appease us and send us on our way, or if they thought we were scamming them somehow despite the amount of business we’ve given them in the past. I have no desire in scamming Five Guys, I just want the order I bought for my family to be correct? I feel scammed and made a fool. I don’t know if he gave us empty gift cards intentionally or unintentionally, but either way this is unacceptable. I have seen this manager at both the Selden and Port Jeff locations, I just don’t know his name. I guess if you’re ever in a situation like this, make sure the gift cards gave money on them before you accept...
Read moreFive Guys never disappoints. I stopped in recently and was really impressed with how clean the place was. The floors were spotless, the tables were wiped down, and even the drink and condiment stations were well-maintained, which isn’t always the case at busy burger joints.
What really stood out to me was the staff. Everyone working that day was friendly and personable. They greeted people with genuine smiles, joked with customers in line, and seemed like they actually enjoyed being there. That kind of energy makes a big difference.
The food, as always, was on point. The burgers were hot and cooked perfectly, and the fries were overflowing—classic Five Guys style. I like how you can customize your burger with so many topping options, and they don’t skimp on anything.
Overall, it was a great experience. The place was clean, the workers were welcoming, and the food was exactly what I was craving. Definitely one of my go-to spots when I want a solid...
Read moreOverrated and overpriced — burger and a hotdog will set you back $16. High prices is a known fact regarding Five Guys food, and I would accept that if the burgers were awesome, but tbh, they’re rather mediocre for the price you pay, and the bacon I’m receiving lately is too undercooked for my liking. I even asked the person to cook the bacon well done during my last visit and they assured me that they always cook it nice and crispy. Well, that hasn’t been the case recently — undercooked bacon was never an issue before, but I’ve been so disappointed with my bacon burgers my last few visits, I’ve now resorted to picking off all the strips of undercooked bacon. Five Guys seemed to have gone down hill a bit, or maybe it’s just this location. It used to be halfway decent. One last thing, the floor near the edge of the restaurant was a gross sticky mess....
