Joels Bagels — Restaurant in Town of Brookhaven

The people are so nice and the food is good. However they handle money and food and never ever change the one glove they wear. Everything is touched so why bother wearing the glove. Most people don't care but it grosses me out. A few months ago a worker was cleaning with chemicals and then proceeded to make my food without washing his hands or changing the glove after touching the chemical spray bottle and rag. I didn't eat the food of course. I really like this place but I can't take the dirty gloves and handling of food after touching money anymore. I normally don't leave reviews but I'm hoping they see this and start changing into clean gloves more frequently or at least take the glove off and on when handling money so I can go back to getting food here. This is my only issue with the place. Otherwise...

I've been here many times for fresh bagels and egg sandwiches! They make sandwiches for lunch with Boars Head cold cuts as well. The owner is a lovely man who greets you with a warm smile every time, he's actually the reason I keep returning! Customer service is the most important, he makes you feel like you are the most important once you set foot into his establishment! The bagels are fresh and delicious, the egg sandwiches are divine! You can grab a drink from one of the coolers and there is fresh coffee brewing at all times. I do believe they make homemade Soups as well. Small deli with big heart. This is my new bagel store/deli in the area. Breakfast sandwiches are great here. Try the spicy hobo, Delicious! Heading to the beach, this is your sandwich spot. Prices are on par for most deli's in the area. There is Plenty of parking, friendly staff. Really good coffee. Very clean inside, which is a very big deal for me. If you know what you want, you might want to call ahead as this place is really good(busy) so walking in may take a little bit to walk out. I'll be back here...
