First time family feast at Pho and Grill: Warm vibes, delicious Pho, and pine-apple surprises!
Our family finally braved the winter chill for a dine-in at Pho and Grill, and boy, we're so glad we did! From the moment we stepped in, we were smitten. The inviting sign outside wasn't just for show, the vibe inside was warm and cozy – perfect for a chilly winter night. The fresh, modern design added a touch of chic, making it feel both comfortable and stylish.
Now, let's talk food! We ordered a spread to share, and everything was a hit. The Pho Nam took centre stage, the broth steaming with rich, fragrant goodness. Thinly sliced beef danced in the aromatic depths, with just the right amount of chew and flavour. I snagged a taste of Mom's pork dish, and let me tell you, it was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The spring rolls were crisp and fresh, filled with vibrant veggies and savoury protein. But the real showstopper was the dish in the half pineapple shell! It was a sweet and savoury surprise, filled with a medley of textures and flavours.
And, of course, we can't forget the service. The staff was attentive and friendly, making sure our glasses were full and our questions answered. They even helped navigate the menu with helpful suggestions, especially for the pineapple mystery dish ( it turns out it's called Goi Xoai, and I recommend it!).
Overall, Pho and Grill was a fantastic first-time experience for our family. We left feeling warm, happy, and incredibly full. We'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu (and conquer another pineapple treasure!).
5 stars for Pho and Grill – a winter winner for both food and atmosphere!

Read moreChicken pho and lychee juice order, from doordash. I appreciated the packaging of the pho, with the noodles and additions laid atop the broth, it was quite clever and a great way to reheat. And the Lychee juice was great, actually. If I return, it will likely only be for drinks.
When I took the dish out of the packaging, I was immediately a little turned off because of the smell -- it smelled very distinctly like chicken fat. Now, I I know that pho broth usually is cooked with fattier parts of the meat to give it a depth of flavor, but this was not that. It was like... chicken pan drippings with the most basic stock (water) ever. There was a layer of oil ON the actual broth itself, I got none of the other flavors of the aromatics at all. Pho broth is supposed to be light but aromatic, and not with the smell of just chicken fat. It was disappointing, to say the least. I will certainly never order that again. The grilled chicken itself was good, probably the only highlight of the pho, but I can also grill chicken breast myself, or get it just as it's own thing rather than pho. Condiments wise: no jalapenos, or limes for that matter was surprising, but more annoying was the lack of option to add it to my dish. Whether that's doordash or the restaurant, I don't know. I had thai chilis and a lemon on hand, and tossed them in. It was fine, just more of an annoyance than anything else.
Honestly, closer to a 1.5 -- 1 point for the drink, and half for the chicken. I will certainly be thinking twice about returning, and will be warning all my other colleagues and friends to stay away. There are other options for Vietnamese (Saigon or Pho Fans) in the...
Read moreImpromptu lunch date with the wife at a place we had been meaning to try. The only disappointment was it took us so long to visit. They were busy with a lively crowd for a Monday afternoon. We were quickly brought warm towels for our hands and we observed the high quality of the menu itself and the serving utensils. Little things done right are noticed. We started with an order of Vietnamese summer rolls and traditional crispy spring rolls. Next we had an order of their braised ribs and their “Viet wings” which for me was the star of the show. Large wing s perfectly crispy with a sticky tangy sauce. This is a dish I’d go back for. We could have stopped there, but everything was so good we couldn’t not try their pho. For entrees we had an order of their spicy basil shrimp fried rice served in a pineapple and an order of the pho sizzle. Again both were fresh and bursting with flavor. And I’m a sucker for pistachio so I had no choice but to have a slice of their pistachio cream cake. Another winner. Washed it all down with a red and white sangria as well as a delicious summer tea that had me feeling like I was on a beach in the tropics. I can’t say enough good things about this place. With 2 other locations I understand why they were full of happy patrons on a Monday afternoon. 5 star meal all around and I’m already thinking about when I’m going back and what I’m...
