This place is legendary! I walked in the back entrance and was immediately greeted by a nice man sitting at the table on the left. He warmly stated to "watch my step" as there is a small stair leading to the bar area and one can easily stumble if not prepared. I thanked him and he returned to sipping his beer and gin and tonic. I got a table at the bar and there was a table to my right which seemed to be full of friends/regulars. One person (who I assumed was the leader) had the nicest set of white hair I have ever seen - and was furiously logging notes into his laptop. I was sheepishly jealous of his dome. Another gentleman, who had the exotic look of being Caribbean, kept trying to get $50 from an older German fellow, and it all seemed to be in good fun. The bartenders were profoundly nice and very attentive. I started with an ice cold adult beverage and they even asked if I wanted a glass. Really hit the spot. Then an obnoxiously loud phone rang out from the table on my right. A handsome fellow, with a back like a bulldozer, answered with a loud "WHAT?", and then proceeded to speak Cantonese. The others at the table found this funny. For a minute I thought that the dwarf actor Billy Barty was also there at the table, but it turned it he was just a short bald guy whom everyone seemed to jest with. I got hungry and I ordered from the "specials menu" - a menu that changes every month. The food came out amazingly fast considering how busy the place was. My meal was to die for. Everything came out perfect. I asked the bartender for another drink, but my words were drowned out by an extremely loud Italian guy who just showed up and was quoting Rocky Balboa. However, I just looked at the bartender and no words needed to be said. My glass was full in an instant. That's great service. I will definitely be...
Read moreI had a terrible experience at this restaurant/ bar and I will not be coming back after the horrific experience I had. As soon as my party and I walk into the restaurant we were immediately harassed by a skinny, tall gentlemen wearing a green face masked and told that if we were not done eating by 10 he would, “personally kick us out.” Then after we sat done and ordered drinks the nice waitress asked if she can bring our id’s to the bar to be checked. The aggressive man came back with all of our id’s threw them on the table and said “pick up ur id’s” everyone grabbed their id’s and were putting them away and he screamed at us AGAIN and said “i didn’t check them yet!” He then thoroughly examined our id’s and made me show another form of identification and yelled AGAIN that he needed a picture of, which i provided. He then checked another girls id at the table and refused to serve her (even though she was 21) because it wasn’t as new as someone else’s at the tables, and he also said “how are you guys friends you’re all different ages” as if it is not normal for anyone to be friends with people that are not your age. The waitress’ came over to us apologizing multiple times for his actions. He was rude and should not be working in the food industry and should seriously be taken out of that restaurant because many costumers were appalled by his demeanor and also said they would not be eating at this establishment again. I believe the staff needs to learn how to treat costumers and people in general. very...
Read moreOUTRAGEOUS prices - it shouldn't be $60 for one person to have lunch. The quesadillas were fine - about as generic as every other place. The side salad was a few pieces of lettuce a couple of croutons squeezed onto the side of the plate with the quesadillas. The funnel cake fries or whatever they call them were good. I ordered the cheese cake sample platter to go and this is what they think is worth $12? 4 little dollops of cheese cake with some airy whipped cream that disappeared by the time it got home? The pieces were so small they could barely be called bite-sized. I could get a whole cheesecake pie with different flavors at the grocery store for the same price. Only after I came to write this review and check their site for what I got do I see they have a Prix Fix lunch menu which I wasn't given and would have used that instead. I get there's inflation and everyone's paying the cost and their supply end has increased - yadda yadda but this is a ridiculous amount to charge for such tiny portions - the quesadillas were "size" okay but the stuff inside was hardly anything, the salad was absolutely a waste of money for what you "get" (what a joke) and that sampler - that's just insulting. This is why less people are going out - it's one thing that we're paying more but when we're paying more and getting "meh" quality or gouged it's...
