Uncle Joe's Pizza — Restaurant in Town of Brookhaven

I am not one to post reviews but when I feel like I wasted money for food that was horrible I need to let folks know. Went there to find that Uncle Joe's in under new ownership. Although I was told Uncle Joe is still part of it but now able to take lots of time off. After I ordered I realized that I only saw 1 familiar face. So I asked is this under new ownership to be told yes. Wish I would have known prior to placing my order as I just did not like what I saw with the workers. However what is most important is the food. Unfortunately not only is Uncle Joe and his wife and son gone so is the great food. Specialty slice the dough was not cooked all the way. The crust was cooked but the flat bottom part was not. It was disgusting to say the least. Regular pizza was also disgusting per my husband and he eats almost anything so that says a lot. We as a family have been coming here since 1998 when we moved in, unfortunately last night was the last time. Uncle Joe, your wife (sorry I am not remembering her name) and Anthony if you read this no one can replace you guys and you will be sorely missed in many aspects. Been coming here since the late 80s. We have had food catered here and always the food is top notch. Hard to find a pizzeria that executes great pizza and Italian entrees and appetizers.

On my recent family visit to the island, I always try to make here for at least a few slices.

I'm a Sicilian pizza purist, just the basics for me and their Sicilian is in my top 10 on the island and I've eaten at more pizzerias than I should divulge . The crust is cooked perfectly, crispy but not overdone. More than ample amount of creamy cheese and my favorite part is the sauce. The sauce is in a league of its own, perfect balance of acidity and sweetness, it has a distinctive taste that is hard to duplicate. If they sold fried sauceballs, I'd fly up from Tampa, just for that.

If all these accolades weren't enough, the people here are nothing short of amazing. Warm, friendly and inviting, people you look forward to seeing. Place has a community vibe like it's Bay Ridge not middle country rd in Lake Grove.

Looking forward to my next trip back to the island and next time, stopping in lunch and trying one of thier delicious...

I’ve recently been ordering pizza from here for my weekly meetings at work and it’s always fresh and on point. So Tuesday night, my family and I went there to try dinner. They were extremely accommodating, the food fresh and delicious, and the waitress was unbelievably pleasant. We haven’t received service like that in quite some time. While we were there I ordered catering for last night (Thursday 8/3/23). I was having 40 people at the beach because it was one year since my father passed away and I wanted to celebrate him. I was already anxious and just wanted the food to be checked off my list. Fidel was awesome! He was genuinely very helpful and the food was outstanding. All of my family was so impressed and I was grateful for Fidel and everyone at uncle Joes for helping me with this special occasion. Go there for dinner and I promise you too will find...
