Zorba The Greek Express — Restaurant in Town of Brookhaven

I have been going to Zorba the Greek for many years. Recently I started going to the one in Selden. The first few times I went everything was great. But the last week or so they screwed up the tzatziki/yogurt sauce. To me this is the most important part of the Greek food. Maybe it’s because I’m Greek American. Tzatziki has a distinctive taste. When made right it is delicious. Zorba the Greek always made very good Tzatziki sauce. The last few times I came here though it tasted like they took bland Greek yogurt from a tub at the store and just put it in a cup and called it tzatziki. The sauce needs to be seasoned properly to give it that distinctive taste. Without this I did not enjoy the meal at all. In my humble opinion it is the Greek sauces that make Greek food what it is. So it is very important. I’ll be staying away for now and going elsewhere for Greek food. I hope they fix it in the future the next...

I tried this restaurant for take out 3 times before writing this review. I am of Greek descent and did not want to write this review, but here I am, frustrated with this place. I always order the gyro over greek salad. first, they put the dressing on the salad, there is about 20,000mg of salt in the dressing it will make you puke. the gyro meat is burned so badly it should be called gyro jerky. and they do not answer their phones. Skip this place, there are 2 other greek restaurants within 2 miles that both blow this place away. if they can fix their issues I would gladly go back but until then, I drive right past it to the other places that...

Came 3 times, and the food is delicious. The atmosphere is great, and the service has been awesome. I have been here at different times except weekends. I'm not a fan of busy hours at any business, so I stay clear, which may explain different experiences from others. I like the Monday evening crew. Sweet young lady at register with the male cooks in back that greet and smile genuinely. Thank you for bringing us this location.

The chicken souvlaki is where it's at! With salad or fries, you can not go wrong!! Oh, and when we get the lil one the kids chicken and tenders, we ask for feta on the fries, putting a smile on the kid's face!
