Texas Roadhouse — Restaurant in Town of Brookhaven

1/7/25 update:

Always a great dinner at the TRH!!! Tonight I had the 20 oz bone in ribeye steak med rare. The steak was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing, nice and tender. We also ordered a full rack of ribs which were so delicious ( I stole a couple from my mother in law!) The meat was falling off the bone and the barbecue, just awesome. Me wife enjoyed the filet and shrimp, perfect! Each dish comes with 2 sides, plenty of food.

Our waitress was amazing! (Lenore?) I’m sorry I forgot.

——————///—————— Tonight was our first time at this new Texas Roadhouse in Selden. We did the plan ahead seating on the ap. It worked out perfect. When we got there, we had no wait to be seated.

Upon entry, you can get a view of the kitchens and their amazing steaks on display. I immediately had my steak tagged! Boy did it look good.

We sat at our table. I noticed that all staff in the kitchen were wearing masks and gloves at all times. Service staff were not required to wear gloves but had to disinfect or wash whenever they handled a dish. I was not concerned about this, they were diligent with what needed to be done.

Our waitress Jurnee (pronounce Journey) was a real winner tonight. She was on top of her game with her recommendations and care for our table (party of 5). She brought our drinks and kept our beverages full, which was nice. The ladies had a Margherita and a fuzzy peach drink. They enjoyed them. For apps, we had the fried pickles, pitatoe skins and chicken. They were all nice and hot, crunchy and delicious.

For dinner, we ordered the filet medallions with sweet potatoe topped with a nice crusty marshmallows, steak and chicken, steak and my 23 oz boneless ribeye. The meats were all very tender and cooked perfectly. My ribeye was rare, juicy and tender. With the dinners you get 2 sides. I highly recommend the side salads which is a very generous salad. Mine was the ceaser dressing tipped with parmesan cheese. We also had broccoli, cheese fries etc.

WORST SERVICE EVER I had the worst server ever. We ordered a kids meal, a steak, and a appetizer combo. The server questioned my friend if she was even 12 because that was the maximum age to order the kids meal. And even asked for birthday even though we tried telling her that she was a December baby therefore was a year younger. The server looked sceptical but wrote down the order. 20 minutes later they finally came out with the appetizer and everything was fine. The first sign on error was when she brought out a Caesar salad which I told her no one had ordered. And she brought it back. And then a few minutes later she brought out three bowls of chilies. Now. I was sure she had messed up our order completely. She doubled checked the order with us even rewrote everything on her sticky note. Finally an hour later I saw her bringing our food out. ONLY THAT IT WAS COMPLETELY WRONG. it included fried chicken and a bunch of other things that we never ordered. I WAS FLABBERGASTED I SAW HER DOUBLE CHECK OUR ORDER AND REWRITE EVERYTHING . I can’t believe she still messed everything up. BY NOW WE WERE THERE FOR ALMOST TWO HOURS AND STILL DIDNT GET OUR MEAL. THE WORST PART IS SHE NEVER APOLOGIZED AND EVEN GAVE US A ATTITUDE. AND WAS JOKINH HOW SHE DIDNT KNOW HOW SHE MESSED UP. By the time we got all our meals. I noticed that the we got the tiniest side of fries. She said that she dropped them on the way. SO UNPROFESSIONAL TO DROP HALF OF OUR FRIES. AND SHE DIDNT EVEN REPLACE EVEN THOUGH SHE SAID SHE WOULD. AND THE STEAK MEAL WAS COMPLETELY WELL COOKED EVEN THOUGH I ASKED FOR MEDIUM RARE. When I asked her to take it back she returned WITH A COMPLETELY RARE STEAK. AT THAT POINT I WAS SO TIRED AND READY TO GET OUT. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER...

We had a 3 hour wait time -- called in our name at 4:30 and they gave us a 3 hour wait, to come back at 7:30. When we arrived, we checked in and immediately got sat.

We ordered our appetizers immediately with our drinks, then we received our drinks. Then the waitress came back a little after and we ordered our food (salad as a side dish). A short while after, we received the side salad...still no appetizers (and this is the last time we saw our server...more on this in a bit). THEN a while after we received the apps. Okay, so we're eating our apps... waitress is MIA and we couldn't get drink refills. Before we got halfway through the apps, our dinners arrived. Still no waitress. We can see her behind the (empty due to Covid) bar...okay...how bout serving us though?

At no point during our visit did the waitress or food servers or managers take away any empty dishes at our table.

So we finished our food, need to wrap it, and wondering if anyone is going to help us. There were 2 managers on the floor and neither took notice of us at all. (One of the managers asked us how things were, except that was only like 2 minutes after we first sat...). Finally a different server asked if we wanted boxes for our food and gave it to us. Still just sitting there waiting to get the check and wanting to freaking get out of there. Server who gave us boxes asked if we wanted the check, and we paid through him.

As we were leaving, we heard the table next to us complaining about the same waitress not being around and the manager said it was because she was working the bar. Okay I get it, sometimes servers fill in behind the bar. But no one told us she switched to bartender, and no one greeted us to say they're...
