It's local tradition... eating charcoal-grilled hot dogs on a sunny summer afternoon. Add some iced loganberry and french fries and you have a snapshot of the season.
Ted's has done it one better by bringing summer indoors. Same great flavors and aromas (well, a lot less smoke) that make for classic comfort food in Buffalo NY - but available any weather and any season.
The hot dogs, burgers and sausage are, like almost everything here, cooked to order and dressed as you like in front of you at a clean and bright counter. French fries, house-made onion rings or a combo of both are highly recommended sides to your order. Everything served is of uniformly high quality, using a variety of local products and suppliers for a very "hometown" taste. Anyone looking to experience a slice of Western NY couldn't do better than a visit to any local Ted's.
This location offers expansive dining indoors, outdoor seating for more seasonal treats and a large, well-paved parking lot. Wide doors and low thresholds make handicapped access possible. Everything looks clean and well maintained...
Read moreTed's always had great food. We arrived just a few minutes before noon. The place was pretty empty and we thought we'd be able to order quickly and get our food quickly as well. Not so. The guy in front of us ordered about 15 hot dogs and some other stuff. One would think that the staff would have another worker help to speed the process along by either helping to fill that large order or start prepping the orders for the people who were waiting behind this guy. Not so. The worker putting the condiments on those 15 + food items took his sweet time. No help from anyone else. I stood there in silence and watched as the painfully slow process unfolded....no apologies...no explanations. Took over 15 minutes and then some for our 3 dogs, onion rings and fries for 3 people. Will not be returning to the Lancaster...
Read moreAfter living in buffalo for nearly 10 years I thought I’d finally give this spot a chance. I tried it today and asked for beef hotdogs though I feel that they were not beef at all. When I took the first bite it tasted different from the start. My kids are one to really enjoy hotdogs yet none of them ate it. My sister also said they tasted weird. On top of that I’ve been in and out of the bathroom all day. Something is not right with this place. It’s either they fed us pork hotdogs after we explicitly said beef or the hotdogs are just nasty in general with the added benefit of some crazy diarrhea. Though I’m glad my body found a way to it expel...
