FIRE & CORK KITCHEN & WINE BAR — Restaurant in Town of Clarkstown

I used to love this place. However, the last 6 or so times I have eaten here, the food took a nosedive. I'm not sure what happened in the last 6 months, but the quality just isn't there anymore. I ordered the chicken avocado melt many times and loved that dish. One time it came with rotten mayonnaise and they told me it looked like that because the sandwich was hot and melted the mayo... but if I've eaten this at least 10 times before, don't you think I would have noticed this before? It was the most wack response but they did eventually agree to make me a new sandwich and leave off the mayo. The progression of their food going downhill has been steady, but last night took the cake for me. I ordered my beloved chicken sandwich for pickup. I was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. I showed up to pick up my meal after about 30 minutes but it was still not done. Then I waited another 15 minutes. I think they forgot to make it and started making it when I arrived, which is why I had to wait 15 minutes for it. No apology. No explanation. Then, I get my food home and the sandwich that comes with two slices of grilled chicken has one and a half. They actually cut one of the pieces in half and took the other half away. I could see where they had cut it after it had been cooked. So ghetto.

I kept trying to go back because their food used to be really good. But I am done struggling to like them any more. I just can't do it again.

Also, they need to add something to their walls to absorb the noise. On a crowded night, it is extremely loud. It's just not pleasant to try to enjoy a meal when you can't even hear your dining partner speaking right next to you.

First off , I want to start by saying I have been coming to this place for 3 years , their foood is great ! I am writing this review because the service was absolutely unacceptable . Let’s start with JOE the bartender . Everytime I came here he gave me good service but today it was literally the worst. There were 4 customers that sat at the bar and walked out because they were waiting for 10 mins and no one even came to greet them meanwhile he was right there. Keep in mind we were the only table in here ! Number 2 I payed extra money for bottom less mimosas and when I asked him for a 2nd one … he literally made it and left it behind the bar .. WENT ON LUNCH .. and had a regular server give it to me 20 mins later. That is insane . 3rd I ordered the avacado toast which was delicious by the way & it comes with salmon . They rushed it for some type of reason and forgot the salmon . Why have something on the menu and skip the steps ! 4th I asked for another mimosa & the waiter this time poured the orange juice so damn high , there wasn’t enough room for even a splash of champagne . I don’t know if the owner is out of town but it is never this poor of service ! He is always in here and the service is great , I don’t eee him one day and the service as the WORST !! After coming here for so long I will not be returning . We need the girls back we the bartender because they actually care about...
