I've lived in New City for over 40 years. I come from Italian immigrants and Rocco's is not the best Italian American food around... at all. It's terrible. I only get take out pizza, as the other food is pretty dreadful Italian American food. I mostly went to Italian American restaurants in other places in Rockland, if I didn't feel like cooking my own Italian food. Most of them have closed as people retired, so I went back to Rocco's. In the last few years, the pizza has been horrible. It's a wet sloppy, greasy, salty, falling apart mess. You can't order thin crust pie, as there is too much on top. One day, the cheese fell off the crust on the way home... cheese residing on one side of the box, with the crust on the other side. So, I went with regular crust pizza. It took three paper towels to get all the grease off of one slice. You can fold a slice in half and a tablespoon of grease will be in your plate. It's gross. The crust is chewy and burned at times. I really dislike Rocco's pizza now. I finally broke up with Rocco's pizza and some of the newer places on Main Street in New City have much better pizza. Sorry Rocco and Vinny, I won't be coming back to the sloppy greasy mess you call pizza. I have found a better take out pizza right...
Read moreIf you are looking for a dining experience that will engage all your senses, Rocco's Family Restaurant is that place. You won't be sorry....It is worth the trip. My family decided to have a reunion at Rocco's Family Restaurant and I have to say the food was superb.......to start, we had the tastiest garlic rolls, spinach, artichoke cheese pizza/focaccia. We then feasted on a combination seafood platter with jumbo shrimp, calamari, clams oreganato which was delightfully fresh, tender, and melted in the mouth! I also highly recommend the shrimp and sole francese which was seasoned perfectly and incredibly delicious. Their sauteed broccoli rabe with garlic was cooked to perfection. The portions are a good size and their prices are very reasonable. You will definitely bring home leftovers to enjoy the next day. In addition, the server was attentive, knowledgeable, courteous, and eager to please.
This gem of a restaurant has the most delicious authentic Italian cuisine I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. . The food is superb with seafood as fresh as the day it was caught!
I am looking forward to returning to Rocco's as it rates number 1 of all the best restaurants I've been to. It's no wonder they've been...
Read moreRocco’s is the best!!! My granddaughter, who lives in Texas wanted to spend her 8th birthday with her family in NY. So, we decided to have Rocco’s cater our party. We had been to the restaurant several times so we already knew the food was terrific. This time was no exception! We had eggplant rollatini, chicken francese, and gluten free baked ziti along with a beautiful house salad and garlic knots. We also ordered chicken fingers, french fries and pizza for the kids. Rocco’s also supplied us with plenty of Italian bread and 2 types of dressing for the salad.
Vinnie delivered the food a little earlier than expected which was great! He and his assistant set up all the warming trays and sternos in no time. Since the food arrived piping hot, our guests didn’t have to wait to eat at all. The trays stayed hot throughout the party as well. Everyone raved about the food and we were extremely delighted with everything! The gluten free pasta was wonderful as well!! We couldn’t have been happier and will make Rocco’s our first choice in the future!! Thanks again Rocco’s!! You helped turn our gathering into a...
