If you want faster service, honestly try the Wendys in Crossgates Mall down the road. That's what I'm trying next, because I 'm not coming back here. And I honestly should have checked reviews before today.
I've been trying this Wendys for months since I moved here a few months ago, chance after chance, trying to be patient and understanding. Maybe its isolated incidents, maybe its select people on staff or pandemic fall out. But after today, I'm done with this location and will spend the extra time walking into the nearby Crossgates Mall Wendys.
This location is SLOW, every time. Often times seeing how long the drive thru is I've parked and tried to go inside, only to find the dining doors locked with no posted signage to explain why. I've ordered ahead via the mobile app, which mean the food should be ready to go on arrival, often finding its not been made yet. Every visit, the drive thru has been SLOW. They don't talk to you right away at the ordering menu, they're slow to respond at the pick up window, and often send people to the waiting spots, and STILL take forever, even when they have few customers.
On top of that, most previous visits has had something messed up (wrong drink, wrong number of patties, burger not plain as requested, etc). I once ordered a medium soda and large strawberry frosty, only to have them in the same exact drink size, with the flurry completely liquid. Once or twice, fine, but every visit?
But today was the last straw. I tried to order ahead via the mobile app, which wasn't working, so getting stuck in the drive thru it was. I was only the third car in line, and sat there upwards of 10min while the 1st car had a full blown conversation with the person on mic, instead of ordering. Then, both the 2nd car and myself were made to sit there (mine was upwards of 8+min) without any greeting or "just a sec", despite me trying to contact, especially after people honked at me. I ordered two Dave Double meals (one plain aka just cheese/ketchup) one med root beer one large dr. pepper, 10 nuggest with BBQ sauce, which the person confirmed on mic / on screen, and charged me for. One of the doubles was only a single patty, there was no ketchup or bbq sauce provided, the root beer was a 2nd dr. pepper, and the fries were so crunchy they were almost hard. This is after a 20+min wait, and with the parking lot/drive thru set up and slow service its very hard to bring it to their attention of their mistakes. And that's IF they acknowledge you, admit their mistake, and try to fix it (which is usually no, instead will argue with you).
This location honestly could use new management, retraining in customer services, and explanation of the definition of fast food. 20min+ is sitdown full...
Read moreI have been trying to give this place and the workers the benefit of the doubt but it's like they're in a race for first place in "How to Be the Worst Restaurant in Albany". They've been placed under New Management and still can't get it together which is a sign that the entire place just needs to be shut down, sold and turned into something else at this point. First issue is that majority of the staff appear to be Spanish or Latin (I'm really not sure but something of that background) and can barely speak a lick of English (which is crazy because the restaurants customer base is primarily English-speaking local folks). Also, to make matters worse, the lobby always appears to be in a disheveled state and unclean. Last but not least, the few other staff members that appear to be people of color (African American) have awful attitudes and don't mind letting you know that they hate their job, hate you and probably just hate the world entirely. I encountered an African American female on drive-thru today who was just so disgustingly unprofessional, rude and had just a plain miserable, mean-spirited demeanor. I went as far as asking for a supervisor and confronting her about her attitude and was told that she is "a supervisor", her name is Mona (or something like that) and as she rudely walked away before I could even finish speaking, she said that's just how she "talks to people". These fast-food workers want all these privileges and higher pay but majority of them behave just like the female I encountered did today and that's concerning all by itself because if she acted like that to my face and was unapologetic about her nasty attitude, what might she be doing behind the scenes to customers food??? Just close this Wendy's down, the staff doesn't want to be there, and the place has terrible customer service and cleanliness practices. IT...
Read moreMy family and I used to come to this location all the time but lately, the business has gone downhill. Mostly, at night. I do want to say that we seem to never have issues during the day. I feel bad for complaining because I'm someone who strongly believes that everyone deserves a job, but the scheduled night crew seem to never have anyone on who can translate English for those who aren't fluent in the language. One night, my wife was given the wrong change because the cashier didn't know the difference of the coins and bills. Trying to point this out to the cashier, the cahsier had to call someone else over for help. It was ONLY after my wife explained the issue multiple times did she finally get someone to understand what she was saying and got the correct change. Tonight, we went to Wendy's to try and get the Girl Scouts Thin Mint frosty before they were discontinued. We ordered two normal chocolate frostys and two thin mints Frostys, which are more expensive. When we got to the counter, the cashier said that they didn't have any more of the thin mint frostys. We were okay with that and asked if we could change them to chocolate also and get the difference refunded to us. Again, the cashier didn't understand what we were asking so she had to call for the manager who ALSO didn't understand what we wanted. She kept repeating, "We don't have that. We are out." We kept trying to explain that we understood that; we wanted to change the order from the two thin mints frostys to two chocolate frostys and get refunded the difference since they're more expensive. Neither of them understood what we were trying to say and eventually getting tired of arguing, we just left. Obviously, we never got the refund so now we'll have to call corporate and see if there's anything that...
