I visited Tropical Smoothie Cafe yesterday with my sister, and we had a mixed experience. I ordered an açaí bowl, which was actually pretty good and tasted fresh. My sister got the Bahama Mama bowl, but unfortunately, it came out completely frozen—so solid that it was like a rock. She could only eat the fruit on top because the rest was just too hard.
Even though we were dining in, we were given everything in to-go bowls and cups, which felt a bit impersonal. The girl working at the front seemed like she didn’t really want to be there. When we asked her if the bowl was supposed to be frozen like that, she said yes, but honestly, it didn’t make sense—it seemed more like something went wrong in the preparation.
Overall, it wasn’t the worst experience, but definitely not what we expected. I’d go back for the açaí bowl, but I hope the service and food...

I'm a smoothie freak! Usually I make them at home...Discovered this brand in Ohio recently. Loved it. Went twice during a short stay. Excited to learn we have them nearby Syracuse. So I happily beat a path when I got back. My entire issue is service. And it's down to one girl. (I only saw 2 kids there. One fellow & her.) I found her cold & abrupt. Bordering impolite but I can't fairly say that. Just severely lacking any kind of warmth & low on tact. Hoping to come back here often, so I'm logging this less than shiny review. Usually I just write a place off internally, go somewhere else and leave negative reviews to others. And yes, I know how hard it is to get good help! This place isn't cheap either. Worst experience at a tropical smoothie EVER!!! Went for lunch on my break and waited 11mins before I asked for a refund! The girl attempting to make my smoothie hadn't even started it in that time nor was my chicken flat bread started!! I WAS THE ONLY ONE THERE NO TO GO ORDERS NOTHING!! She then puts the pitcher down and leaves to go to the bathroom! Abandoning my order that she STILL HAD NOT STARTED....WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON HERE??
