Don’t waste your time, there are so many excellent Mexican restaurants in the area. No need to compromise.

Might be the worst experience I have ever had dining out. This will be lengthy, but every aspect of the experience was a fail.

Recently opened new location in Hopewell. Busy as heck, which is nice to see.

We get seated to a table just as it’s cleaned, which we appreciated. That said silverware and napkins never showed.

Drinks ordered, no Jarritas. Only glass bottle coke.

We ordered guacamole and chips, a burrito bowl with cheese and sour cream on the side as well as the protein on the side. Not to be difficult, but because my wife is vegetarian and our 3 year old is anaphylactic allergic to dairy.

I ordered Mexican tacos with grilled chicken.

Waitress rolled her eyes and was annoyed at our order.

Guacamole arrived, chip basket from salsa nearly empty, they never got refilled. We we sat with a 13 dollar order of guac and no chips unused.

My meal came out fine. My wife’s meal came with no dairy on the main dish as requested, but had chicken mixed right in… the person delivering the food apologized and said they would be right back.

A ”fresh dish” was delivered and looked fine. This was just a show, clearly they just picked off most of the chicken and tossed fresh garnishes. We know this because my 10 year vegetarian wife then bit into a forkful of chicken. Twice… I appreciate her being a champ and rolling with it, but that is extremely poor kitchen behavior.

Where else are they taking shortcuts?

The sour cream and cheese requested on the side never arrived.

Not one thing I can say was good. Even the guacamole was just flavorless mashed avocado.

To wrap it all up. We ask for the bill, the notes for the meal were clearly wrong and we are given a chewed up pen to sign the bill. Yummy…

Truly disappointing launch for a 5 location shop. If you must have El Guacamole, at least head to the Poughkeepsie location. We would normally order from there at least once a week. It’s 10,000 times better. Sadly now, we will not be supporting these...

I went to dinner at El Guac on a Saturday night around 6:30-7 o’clock with one other person and it was absolutely dead, there were maybe 2 other tables with people. When we first arrived, I was underwhelmed by the size of the salsa containers for our chips but it turned out to be more than enough for two. We also ordered the queso with chorizo and that was very good as well, a bit slacking with the chorizo but otherwise a very decent queso. I ordered the birria tacos for my meal and this is why I’m giving this place 5 stars. The consume was so delicious and hearty. The tacos themselves had a nice crunchy shell, a BEAUTIFUL cheese pull, and the meat was so tender. I find that most places overcook their meat but El Guac cooked it to perfection. They were also served with rice which normally doesn’t come with birria but now I never want to skip out on it again. overall they were definitely the best birria tacos i’ve ever had. $17 is a touch expensive but for the tacos, consume, and rice it is definitely worth it. The staff was very friendly and our server was an absolute sweetheart. The place was clean, staff was so nice, and the food was delicious. This place definitely should’ve had more business on a saturday night so if you want to support a local business and have a delicious meal, El Guac is a great place. I definitely will be...

Went to this place today for lunch and there was only one group of people sitting down and myself who sat at the bar. The girl working there didn’t even greet me. I had to ask her if I could sit at the bar and she said fine.. About 4 minutes of sitting there she told me to grab my own menu that were stacked by a window.. (very odd; never been told to grab my own menu in any restaurant before) The final straw was when the group sitting behind me ordered a drink and she told them they couldn’t order drinks bc she wasn’t a bar tender and the bar tender wasn’t there. Needless to say I got up and walked out. She was just like “bye” . No, I’m sorry or nothing. I figured the owner of this place deserves better so I called to inform him of what happened and I was immediately put on hold by the same waitress and she never came back on the phone. So I hung up and called back and the phone was busy for ever. It’s a shame bc I’ve been here before and the food and atmosphere is good. Hopefully the owner makes some changes for...

I'm a little disappointed. I heard good things about their food. The salsa looks like puree tomatoes. The chicken quesadilla was plain. I could have made it myself. The burrito was lacking spice, too much rice and not enough chicken. Not much flavor. When i think of a avocado burrito I think of sliced avocado. This was just filled with quacamole. The chicken was sparse with shredded chicken. Unusual. I could give them a few lessons on flavor, if they would like. I hope they do better in the future and hire someone with experience in the culinary. Sorry, but I don't usually offer up my opinion with food anymore.
