I ate here when it first opened and complained about the food and service. Having recently heard very positive things about the restaurant, I returned Thursday night and boy, was I happy! We ordered the focaccia with eggplant and other toppings and it was excellent. Like pizza, but different. It’s a huge portion that is for several people. I then had the spaghetti with clams and I was blown away. Loved the littlenecks, the pasta truly al dente, and it seemed like there were crunchy breadcrumbs on top. This is not your typical white clam sauce. You must try it. My husband had the cacio e pepe bucatini which he said was very good. I had the smoked chicken topped with greens and yellow string beans. The smoked chicken had crisp skin and the meat itself melted in my mouth. The portion was huge and I brought some home. I also ate way too much, but loved every minute of it. The service was professional and polished and I HIGHLY recommend Il Buco...if you can get in! Bravo to the chef and manager!!

I’ll preface my review by noting the food was Really good. We decided to have our NYE meal here because we heard great reviews about the spot in NYC. Generally, the food and the service were fine; however, because we arrived 30 min late, the manager pushed our food out (set menu) before we got our drinks. It was obvious he wanted us out as quickly as possible since the time was nearing midnight. The waiter tried to make up for it by giving us a bottle of bubbly, but the mood was already off. Finally, when we asked where we could go to spend New Years, the waiter said he just received a text message saying the pizza spot on the stretch was “packed.” After the check was brought out - before finishing our dessert - we rushed to the pizza spot. When we arrived we immediately realized the waiter LIED. The pizza spot was closed; we ended spending New Years in the car. Woohoo. ***This review reflects my opinion and not that of the people I was with.***

I’ve enjoyed many wonderful meals at the original il Buco in Noho, Manhattan, and al Mare in Amagansett now has another piece of my heart. The verdant setting, the rustic modern interior design, the attentive and friendly service, and, WOW, the food all blended perfectly. Brava! We arrived hungry on a rainy Friday night and ordered a quarter of the menu, then returned the next day to enjoy brunch al fresco. The dinner standouts: local fluke crudo + oysters, mushroom focaccia, casarecce, crispy cannellini beans, seared duck, fruit pie. And, I could’ve dined solely on the gourmet tins and been happy; pick whichever sounds appetizing and you can’t go wrong. For lunch, more focaccia (!), Burrata, and their bucatini cacio e pepe is among the best pasta you’ll ever have. I have some dietary restrictions and the chef helped make it a incredible meal for us. Grazie mille!

Il buco al mare

-tomato from a very close farmer’s market Simple yet extremely delicious, honestly the best tomatoes I’ve ever had in my entire life,

-Not just the tomatoes, also the cauliflower is magnificent, perfect Cauliflower, za’tar, labneh + olive oil would be another exercise choice of order Rich and creamy sauce, Perfectly cooked cauliflower will blow your kind

-Yellowfin tuna, dill +lime +olive oil(?) Beautifully plated, decorated, real piece of art Such fine raw yellowfin tuna Soft, tender

-prawns, chili, cilantro +lime sauce with a bit of avocado Perfect combination, Smells great too Squeeze lime, gets better and better

-espresso Is very good too

-eggplant pizza Pizza doe made with different flowers I don’t really enjoy eating pizza crust but this place, I could eat it all day everyday The salty flavor from the anchovies, chewy doe, thinly sliced eggplant, spicy flavor, tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, Amazing mixture and taste

In the inner side of the restaurant they have the tall windows, makes the restaurant look even bigger and the nature light and the wooden walls, and the warm temperature lights and the spinning ceiling fan, enhancing the air circulation,

With pretty colorful flower table setting, clean white/gray marble table

Tall tree bushes outside with wooden table and the chairs,

-10year ild balsamic vinegar Bitter, sour, deep flavor Sweet + sour

-chocolate Delicious half sliced pitted cherries +some kind of sauce(?)

Dessert are all highly recommended They are all perfect in their own way thank you to the sous-chef/ chefs/...

The first time we dined here at the end of August 2021, we had a surprisingly good experience. Great dishes and generous amount of food. We loved this place so much that we made it a promise to reserve a table every time we were to be in the Hamptons. Which happened to be today (November 2021). We ordered the same exact dishes we ordered in August, but this time it wasn’t quite the same. To start off, the portions were unarguably smaller, which could have been fine with us if the quality had been unchanged. Sadly, the food was not as great and distinctive as a couple of months ago. The duck was a bit overcooked, and the chicken was less flavorful than before. Don’t get me wrong, it was still good and enjoyable, but not comparable to the quality we had previously experienced, something that didn’t sit quite well with us considering it’s not the cheapest place to dine. We politely shared this feedback with the manager in suit, who seemed to be uninterested to hear what his customers have to say. He almost just shrugged our words away like they were a waste of time. We even showed him the pictures we took of the same exact food in August for comparison, and the only thing he has to say was that probably they were taken a long time ago.And he didn’t even try to compensate in any way to make us feel worthy of nothing less than the best experience. Sorry to say they lost...

business reported my previous review so I am reposting this again If I could give 0 stars I would. We were discriminated against in this place. You will be talked down on, stared at, and the employees themselves will be talking crap about you amongst each other. Was just there this past Saturday 3/29 for my friend's bachelorette weekend. We were all dressed nicely, not rowdy and just out for dinner. The waitress was so condescending. At one point we asked for calamari and she told us "it isn't the calamari that you think." That alone is unnecessary as HOW DO YOU KNOW I DONT KNOW ABOUT THIS CALAMARI? as if that wasn't enough, she stared at us with such disgust the entire time and was talking crap about us to the other employee. We felt very uncomfortable and I made sure to let them know on my way out. Aimee C was our server. The restaurant reached out to me because I posted them on my instagram which has thousands of followers and asked to make it up to us. I replied that we are not interested but by reading another review from 3 weeks ago, I now see this place has a much bigger problem....
