My Uncle's Place — Restaurant in Town of Fenton

So, we are giving 3 stars purely because the flavors were on point but ultimately we got screwed on prices with no care for it to be fixed. We decided to try a new spot for wings tonight and ordered 1 dozen of wings. On their website it shows $9.95 for 1 dozen, picture attached, so we ordered them! We ordered half gold sauce, half O sauce, and both are delicious (somehow cold but we did have a 10 minute drive home so maybe that contributed). We paid $21, which I questioned when there to my boyfriend but then was like "oh they must've gave us a dozen of each flavor, fine with me!" And we paid and left. We get home and open it to see it's only a half dozen of each flavor, so 1 dozen total for $21. I called and questioned it and they said a half dozen is $8 and some change, so the total was correct. I explained how their website says completely different and the lady told me that those are before COVID prices and it's since gone up. It was just crazy to not acknowledge the false advertisement, and fix the mistake on the restaurants end. I've attached the pictures of both the website price and and 6 wings from each container. It wasn't a bad place, the service was friendly, and the food was good but that was bad customer service overall at the end of it and pretty crappy to charge me $21 for a dozen of wings when the price on their website states less than half that price. My experience is solely based on one visit. In an effort not to shame anyone individually I just want to focus on my experience as a whole. When I first arrived I was a little confused as to where to sit. There wasn’t any immediate greeting, but I can overlook that.

Once seated it took a several minutes to be addressed. There was no “ hello my name is .” Again, I can overlook that. It was just an overwhelming experience because it was obvious that staff were busy, short staffed and wanting to be anywhere else , but there. I get it. We all have been there.

We finished our appetizers and everyone in my party received their food, but me. I figured it was coming and just waited. However, 20 minutes later I still had no food. I mentioned to someone who I’m not sure what their job title was. However, there was no follow-up. I had to approach another staff and see what the delay was.

We all ending up leaving and I had to get my food to go. Everyone had finished their meal and the atmosphere was too much for the time of day we arrived.

The overall lack of attention and follow-up from staff was disappointing. It appeared that checking in to se if we had any needs was not as important as serving beverages to people in the bar area.

Again, I get it! I worked in the restaurant business. People can suck. People are rude. However, there’s just needs to be more awareness for people dining in. If you can’t accommodate that , perhaps...

I had a great lunch here the other day. I was previously here a few years back for one of their trivia nights and it was hopping. This time I went early on a day off for lunch. We ordered a burger with tater tots and I had hot wings. We also had the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls for a starter. The food was great, served hot and the cook, Jimmy, is an absolute sweetheart! He came out and checked on is and our food multiple times. Everything was great. The Philly cheesesteak and other similar egg rolls are not egg rolls in the egg roll wrapper context, which is fine, more of a dough, like a crescent roll vibe. Totally cool and delicious, just sharing for clarity for other diners. The flavors were great, the wings were cooked perfectly, the burger was cooked perfectly, exactly medium rare, just as we asked. They’ll cook your burger to your liking, and it’s nice and juicy. Come here for a spot to relax and grab a bite or a drink on the service road just before “Your Needful Things” right by Nowlan Rd. I also meant to mention, they’re one of the few clever bar/restaurants to include hooks under the bar counter and along the walls near the other high-top seating for purses, jackets, and the like.
